Definitely a big selling point for the F-150, too. $32k after tax credit for ~115 kWh of batteries?! And there’s a truck attached!

Yeah, I’m secretly thinking it will be a great tow rig for a racecar, too. Well, it’s not a secret. My wife knows I want to race and we went to Sebring to watch our old MINI race a few months ago... but that’s some years away probably. Maybe some track days, though!

It’s not 100%, but we’re tracking reservation numbers on the r/F150Lightning subreddit.

If it’s a commuter, I say go for it.

Airstream (and I’m sure others) is working on trailers with smallish batteries so they can regen and lighten the acceleration load, etc., to help extend EV towing range.

I’ve reserved one of these and expect I’ll have to drive slow to get 100 miles out of it if I’m towing a little Airstream or something.

It’s not a problem of doing it. It’s a problem of doing it for hundreds of miles. And the answer for those Semis is:

Agreed.

Lets be honest, they’d all be fine with a Ridgeline RAV4.

Ford patented a gas range extender/generator that mounts in the bed of a truck like a toolbox.

Honestly, one would have to be crazy to think that Ford hasn’t made sure that the Lightning can handle that test.

How does that help Ford, the company?

Can I avoid those if I get the work truck version?

Mike Levine (who I think has posted/commented here before), VP of Communications at Ford, has offered on Twitter to help people find dealers that were charging MSRP for the Mach E to avoid “market adjustment”.

None of the 20k pre orders are for actual owners. Just ppl who will flip it for huge profit and use it to boost their tic-tube views.

I live in FL, so I wouldn’t miss it, but yeah, it should probably just be standard for the truck.

Now that you mention it, I kinda want the crappiest possible one. $32k is stupid cheap. Do I really want to pay an extra $12k for the XLT? meh.

If they can make them fast enough, yeah.

I actually kinda WANT crank windows, in a way. Buy this thing and never buy another truck, ever. 4WD, AC, the end.

Gotcha. I saw another site that said 112 kWh based on a tweet by a ”Battery Expert” (with no qualifications listed).
