After this Tomorrowland (which I liked saw it before Mad Max on the same weekend), Disney is no longer in the business of risk. From now on, it’s Marvel, Muppets, Star Wars, Pixar, Pirates, live action adaptations of past glories, and whatever safe and profitable franchises they have on hand.

One that needs to be gone forever.

He did, but the difference between Joffrey and Tommen is that Joffrey was always saying “I am the King!” to remind people that he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants and no one can stop him. When Tommen says it, the point is, “I am the King, but I am powerless.” Which basically illustrates their different

The big problem is that grimdark and all this po-face seriousness pretends to go for depth but really substitutes common themes with a sophomoric nihilism that essentially says, “everything is awful so why bother unless you can personally profit?” It’s the illusion of depth by simply being darker. I don’t necessarily

I really don’t think he’s being anything but candid. Is it any way nasty to say “it’s too bad, I thought this director and that movie were perfect for eachother” or “I think this character’s death held more weight when he was still dead”, or pointing out the pretty clear separation of the tv shows and the movies?

I understand his hesitation, and the myriad reasons for it. But there is literally nothing that could happen to Ben Affleck that would affect him as profoundly as institutionalized racism. People are dying out here. Those are the stakes.

I sympathize too, because I imagine he saw that they found out one of his ancestors owned slaves & he could instantly see headlines focusing on that, & associating him with slavery, & wondering how that could derail what he does both for his career & any non-profits. And maybe part of him thought, I don’t want to

I guess you mean Superman MOVIES and Fantastic Four MOVIES shouldn’t be dark and gritty. If you’re claiming the original sources aren’t dark when they need or want to be, you’re drinking too much of your own Kool-Aid.

I wouldn’t call this trailer dark and gritty. The focus seems to be on the humanity, humor and idealism of the characters. The look is atmospheric, grounded in reality but fully embracing the surreal nature of the FF’s powers. I’ve never seen a truly believable depiction of stretching powers but I completely bought

Which is EXACTLY how the world would react if Superman were real. Hell that's how most people reacted to the destruction and him killing Zod after seeing the movie.

Bingo.

Which is the main reason why I disliked MoS.

Still not the weirdest thing I've seen in the NYC subways.

Considering I just watched "Earth to Echo" a couple months ago...and "Super 8" a couple years ago, I would say these movies are definitely NOT dead. They are certainly more rare...but they are still out there.

Diet is important, but I think you're overestimating its role in disease.

You mean—kind of like Sam Raimi's approach? ;)

Really, it amounts to a form of Communism. And we all know how every Communist government ever has turned out: despots who make themselves fat at the expense of the populace.

+1 For being old enough to know who is Sam and Diane.
