I think X-Men has a bigger problem. That is, certain demographics tend to think they “own it” in a way he just didn’t have with the Avengers. I do tend to think people minimize some people’s attachments from the 90's to characters like Hawkeye, but that’s a whole diferent ballgame and they didn’t make SO many changes

People should probably not confuse casting with films the don’t like.

Ungreying you.

I mean that’s not really Gene’s trek. You’re describing the movies after Star Trek 1.

I feel like Sony is a better match if it’s going to be in the Japan market. Perhaps everyone involved has changed over at this point - but sort of like Nintendo laughing at Microsoft’s offer to buy them when they weren’t at the top, you’d have to think long time Sega corporate execs and staffs would bristle at the

As a Sega fan, you have described a nightmare that would give me cold sweats. Let Sony by them. Or Microsoft. Or literally anyone else.

The idea that your online persona isn’t “the real you” doesn’t actually only cut against people with outside parasocial relationships on the “right end”.

The only part of me that gets curmudgeonly on stuff like this is the fact that Star Trek is already so fast and loose with the canon that at a certain point it feels more comic booky than Science Fiction.

It would be nice if it could have been earlier but Supreme Court schedules don’t match election cycles. So his choices if he were not to just quit in the middle of the docket, were to either retire while Republicans still had control of the Presidency or wait until the end of the next term where Republicans didn’t

I wish someone would ungrey me just because commenting is kind of pointless like this.

My issue is that the boss fight in Persona 5 Royal for Okumura as so bad and is such a game breaking flaw, Royal doesn’t belong ahead of its originating game. There’s a lot of content that’s locked behind either “hint guiding” your way through it or just already being built properly to execute the mechanic the game

Pretty sure if G4 is aiming for any demographic, Kotaku is not going to overlap it.

I’m pretty sure 4/5ths of Hollywood casting directors and executives upon hearing an American Superman would have stopped listening mid-pitch.

The thing about both Danson and Harris is they predate x role should go to x type of person politics. When Harris came out, there may have been people who were shocked but it felt pretty muted overall. Those politics hadn’t hit yet, so we all just moved on and he remained himself.

I mean yea. When I watch things it now often feels like it’s either written for someone whose never seen anything or alternately someone who has seen everything and is over it.

I’m glad someone had the context on Urusei Yatsura. As someone who was not an 80's, 90's, 00's, or even 10's follower, I’ve been sort of baffled seeing the ads for it over what exactly it is. I figured there had to be a reason such an old-school look was being sold.

That’s a solid explanation.

It’s not just that they were doing things in house.

I could be wrong, but I feel like the showrunner already has two pieces of source material and despite what she says publicly, is writing a series to be a distinct third property written for a different audience.

Part of the reason I think we see it so clearly in the backlash is the choices made in stories.

Given how close that would be to the books in terms of mythological crossovers, I could certainly see it.
