Ugh! I recently came across the word “architect” used as a verb! Something like, “we will architect that system”.... It was used by a network/computer person, and apparently to them it is a verb, but I read it (I was editing a document with that word used that way) and I do believe I blurted out-loud, “what the f***!?

I remember learning that lesson in my first (and only official) journalism class. The writer should have included the official captions to the illustrations, which clarify that they are not ‘actual’ images or photos of the object. It is misleading to state, “When scientists spotted THIS pair of black holes...” immediately below the image. Doing so can lead readers to assume or believe that the
