The general public misstates, misconstrues, and misinterprets what freedom of speech and expression is with enough frequency that it’s not unreasonable to take her statements literally and at face value.
As a response to critics who say the bannings are an assault on freedom of speech,
I’m seriously glad that the doctor acted as quickly as he did when my grandfather had epiglottitis. It was the 60's. My Grandpa was at home and his throat started closing so he used a spoon to try to keep it open on his way to the hospital, and then a doctor saw him and used an exacto knife and ink pen casing to…
I had it when I was two years old. My sister was coughing that night and my mom decided to check up on us before going to bed, She found me in my cot, gasping for breath and turning blue. My mom drove to our local basic ER, which couldn’t treat me. The doctor sent us to a bigger hospital 15 minutes away but he didn’t…
One of my old coworkers has done that recently, with her husband and two kids. I don’t know all of the details (like how they make money, since when I met them, they were both working retail, which isn’t really a job you can do from the road) but they travel all over the country now, and seem really happy
Yeah, I’m an X-ray tech and I’ve only seen it a couple of times and only in kids. It’s very serious though, patient can stop breathing at any moment. Super rare though.
VOMITING
I had it in my early 20s and it was terrifying. Especially since I had no health insurance at the time and refused hospitalization because I couldn’t afford it.
Right. It’s not common. But when it happens, it’s BAD. I’m surprised they didn’t trach her! (ICU nurse here)
Oof - I had epiglottitis as a child and my dad brought me to the ER and had to call my mom away from knitting club - which she was hosting - to join him because “they don’t know if she’ll make it”. According to the story, what finally saved me was a shot of adrenaline. My parents were pissed though because I had been…

Yep. I mean, if you die suddenly it is much more likely to be due to a virus or a heart attack or a stroke, right? Weird diseases are weird because they are rare.
Had a 19 year old almost die on us with epiglotitis. He had been sent home from the E.D. Only thing that saved him was coughing so hard he ruptured the tissue occluding his airway and it all came out in a pink-white sludge of blood, tissue, and pus. Couldn’t believe a 19 year old would have epiglotitis.
It was ALWAYS security theatre.
Bee and Oliver are like Jon Stewart was split into two people like an old Star Trek episode... But somehow stronger instead of being a creepy rapist and a 1960s idea of a woman.
You ever hear of the saying “you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you’re the asshole.”
2 surgeries for strabismus when I was a little kid, and I have really shitty depth perception and no peripheral vision. 3D movies are lost on me, but at least the tickets are cheaper.
This certainly falls under the category of “WTF!? Stupid shit done in the name of religion.” That’s a long line of horrific events in history.
