It seems developers of these linear games are struggling with the fact that they are split between two worlds. The “delivered narrative” world is where you have to add a great deal of content to make what you’re doing fair use—after all, you did nothing to contribute to the narrative itself.

I got married 4 years ago. We changed our names 2 years ago. I was the one who wanted to do the changing, mostly to signal unity and to avoid the problems of “She’s not really your wife, she’s just your girlfriend” bureaucratic a-holes in emergency contexts.

If by good, you mean just AN argument, I’d disagree. Cops don’t need to be perfect *every second*, only the seconds that count. As someone who works in a public service job, I understand the concern of constant watching being used as a club. I don’t care if they talk shit between calls, but I do care what they do and

This article was super fascinating. It makes me wish there was a way to read the original article that they wanted her to change.

Well, it’s not vastly different than the Scorpion and the Frog...

Ahh, Windows. I don’t mean to be smarmy with what I’m about to say (I’m in the greys and no one will see it anyway. Besides, I’m sure there’s been dozens), but that’s pretty much why I switched to Linux.

I’m no expert in 3D modeling, but it looks to me like the “heist” scan has more detail than the other one. Which would seem to indicate a different scan, since you can’t add data. And I kinda feel like the idea that “it’s highly unlikely that two independent scans of the bust would match so closely” to be pretty

It’s tough to trace how I learned to love the game types I love. Was it FFVII, or Parasite Eve, that made me realize I love RPGs, or is there some proto-game I played? I loved Zelda...maybe...

You’ve constructed quite the fantasy, Rancorr. One where you can say I said things I didn’t say (and that can’t reasonably be paraphrased from what I DID say, at least not until you started to be a dick), one where you get to be offended that, when you’re wrong as to matters of fact, it wasn’t presented in a way that

QFE means either “Quoted for emphasis” or (considerbly less often) “Question for everyone”, at least in my experience. Neither of those make any sense in this context.

Oh, B.S. “We are at an impasse”, he said, as though what his previous response was wasn’t incredibly rude and dickish. We are not at an impasse—you got upset at something, and you want to pretend that “I’m just going to shake my head and leave you to it because I can’t really deal with the level of misunderstanding

You’re the one who referred me to your “novel” upthread, so please, don’t act as though I’m antagonizing you. I’ve been nothing but polite—specifically because I didn’t want to anger you. But I can only control that so far, at a certain point, it really is on you.

“The persecution of criminal death relies heavily on motive and intent. The act isn’t really in dispute (unless some shocking evidence comes to light). She wrote texts urging him to take his own life.”

I read it. Unfortunately, I think it suffers from some misunderstandings of how the law works, and I disagree with it inasmuch as it touches on ethics. Being mentally ill does not excuse one from the consequences of one’s actions (though it may factor into appeals for clemency or mercy). Similarly, the state doesn’t

Getting causation and consequence is sufficient to prevent an insanity defense as a general rule, which I think is the point here: she’s crazy/ill, but not to the point of being an *excuse*.

While true, those more nuanced cases become little different than any crime. OF COURSE people justify it to themselves. That they do so is irrelevant. The only time it’s an excuse is when they can’t understand, and she very clearly understood.

That’s not true at all!

Once again you demonstrate confusion. I didn’t say anything false, Angela-you’ve lied, and have offered no defense except to deny that you’ve lied (which isn’t a defense to the arguments demonstrating you being a liar) In contrast, whenever you’ve tried to make an argument about me saying anything false that’s beyond

No, Angela. You are dishonest and idiotic—I once again note that I hope you’re merely trolling. At no point have you made any points that were valuable, because you have nothing valuable to contribute. All you have is lies, bigotry, and arrogant misunderstandings. I know you think you’re smart—because your dishonesty

Frothing so much you can’t even construct a sentence, at this point?
