Ehhh I can see your point but I know it when i see it is the purpose of most definitions when it comes down to it. I don’t actually know about this berlin interpretation so i can’t really speak to that all I know is if you tell me a game is a rogue like i have certain expectations, and if you tell me its rogue-lite I

That is exactly why rogue legacy is a rogue lite because if you keep things you don’t actually have perma death, for example rogue legacy is considerably easier on your 20th run than your first (though the castle scales as well)

Its a game where you repeat it but X-Y is the point of the game and is totally different each time within reason.

it isn’t vague, its becoming vague its not quite the same thing

you are SO wrong, put that game down and start getting salty right now!

I played the beta for the original release and was like no way this is going anywhere and told my friends as much, but was completely caught out when they said the same thing and chose to redo it from scratch pretty much lol.

You’ve hit exactly on what I suspect is the case lol i’m expecting something shady, this isn’t really in EA’s playbook.

FF14's reboot was exceptional though, not just because of how well it paid off in the long run but because of the massive steps they actually took to fix it, far beyond what i’ve ever seen a developer do in any other situation. They must have felt genuinely ashamed at the management level even to take such drastic

Ok i hadn’t considered this lol, didn’t realize he’d be in a position to be ML -_-

everytime a playstation advert says “for the players” I literally want to smash every sony console i’ve got, i’m not sure they are any better :p

Its not part of the game, its a consequence of using free for all as your loot option. Anyone who raided back then knows we used FFA because master looter was frequently bugged I don’t know if they were that faithful to classic but lol if they were.

Gotta say this looks way better  to me, still doubt its a film i’ll go to the movies for or anything but it doesn’t look meme inducing anymore.

You can pretty much blame WoW for the lack of options to fulfil your second paragraph. Blizzard were just too successful and they single handedly boxed in the genre to where nobody made a game that wasn’t at least 80% WoW clone because they were blinded to other possibilities.

I fight for complexity whenver its relevant but pretty much nothing that mattered was cut from ME1 to ME2 the end result proved that ME1's systems were numbers for the sake of numbers. Its one of the only examples i can think of when a game has gone through that kind of transition and at the end result I think... yeah

I got a free week for veterans off my friend to get through 2.x to heavensward (as he warned me it was pretty bad) and it was as bad as advertised :/ Wanted to kill Dauphinois so much (Alphinaud) so tired of doing everyones irrelevant dirty work lol.

lmfao did anyone else read this and think i’ve never heard a more backwards statement? The idea that because they have a following rules should be more lax if anything that is totally the wrong way round -_-

because Elite Dangerous is the same too, same problems anyway and I can’t see the revenue justifying the development on ED on the same scale.

All blizzard villains have to by contract be Kerrigan, this is as far away as the design team were allowed to get!

Incoming TEARO---RRRR

probably between D3 and D4 in reveal terms, in many ways they are engine demos and as a result they are cool ways to show cool animations, but the core of an ARPG is the character options and loot and neither demo showed anything to do with those.
