Half of this country is financially illiterate. Nothing new. It’s the same as people paying $2k/month for a fully loaded pick up truck, and asking for gofundme help. Or people taking out loans to pay for weddings.

Encountered an MLM guy who had one of these and bragged about the billionaire doors- saw it at a repo auction in the fall- I think he had been living in it

I saw one wrapped hot pink a couple of weeks ago, it was cool looking. Though, I would have thought it had a bit more power than it does.

It looks like the car that was on the cover of my 7th Grade Trapper Keeper, only wrapped in the same material they used on the cover of my 6th Grade Trapper Keeper.

It's tacky, but I love it!

I completely agree. But maybe for the right person who does not do much driving, it could be actionable. ICE used car prices are still pretty much up there.

For anyone out there who decides to start scouring Autotrader for used Teslas or other EVs - an important note. A lot of dealers are listing used EVs with the $4000 federal rebate (for vehicles under $25k) included. They spell it out in the notes of the ad, but it’s a big distinction that makes searching a little

Said by someone who tried to rich overnight or has no money or has never planned and saved for their future and for sure knows nothing about investing and likely keeps what they do have under their mattress (or the equivalent) for safekeeping.

Why is Jalopnik so Tesla centered lately? For every 1 auto article, I have to filter through 27 Tesla articles.  We get it already.

Must one declare their political affiliation at the time of purchase? Otherwise, how is this data accurately collected?

If the manufacturer is not held liable in the courts (all of ‘em) for releasing / promoting dangerous “features” then maybe the solution is to sue the living hell out of the drivers AND THEIR INSURANCE AGENCIES.

Maybe if enough $$$ pain is applied then insurance rates for cars with those features will rise to the

This was just adaptive cruise not FSD and pretty much every manufacturer’s adaptive cruise is bad at avoiding motorcycles. Ford Edge ST with adaptive and lane keeping will still freak out about motorcycles.

Based on how often I see people using their phones and veering into my lane in cars without any driver assists, I’m perfectly happy to have these systems in vehicles as long as they are highway-only and have very robust eye tracking to check for attention. Autopilot’s lack of eye tracking has always been its biggest

I’ve recently given up my Miata because I’m too busy watching for people crossing double yellows out in the country to have any fun. I’m sure half are on their phones. The other half have no business driving if they can’t navigate a 50 mph two lane road that a school bus can safely traverse every day.

I have a Model 3 that currently has the 30 day FSD trial.

Unfortunately, Tesla and the Other OEMs aren’t responsible if they clearly call out the driver’s responsibility to maintain control at all times in the vehicle manual. If they falsely advertise, that is a different story, but I think the companies keep a tight ship on that front (unhinged CEO’s aside). For a reasonably

Minor correction: The car pictured is a Model 3, not a Model S.

Echo, echo:

its not that self driving cars are a bad idea, its that testing them with stupid ass consumers behind the wheel is one

Put down the goddamn phone and drive your fucking car.
