Per my mother - large pot* over low heat, add/melt two or three tablespoons of butter, add usually at least twice as many sliced up onions as you think you will need, salt, then leave them alone and uncovered for at least an hour without touching them. Has worked every time (though I assume that is mostly do to…
“There’s really no such thing as a good time to remake Death Wish.”
Was wondering the same thing. I am sure I am wrong (not at all versed in games) but thought maybe it is in some way a crossover with ERB’s version of Mars, Barsoom?
Some sites have been posting that there is some concern about NBC’s Nightly News ratings and that NBC does not know what to do if they decide to replace Mr. Holt. I do not buy in to any of the chatter but only bringing this up because in the reporting I have read supposedly folks at NBC are being very clear to bring…
I have asked this before but I honestly do not understand at all how the pay structure works in the BBC, and more importantly how some newsreaders, presenters, radio people, etc., are paid so much, in an organization like the BBC. While I completely understand how a presenter, actor, host, whatever on popular…
Okay, I feel stupid posting this, especially because I am not at all computer savvy (plus overall am just pretty thick), but I was having the same problem with my desktop* (which is still connected to the modem through an ethernet cable, because I am old). After trying a bunch of things that did not work or only…
I know I have probably missed the answer but what does the asterisk beside some of the titles mean? Thanks.
Confused about “The Color of Magic: Season One” and “The Odyssey: Season One”. In the case of Magic is there a new production (please) or is it the BBC miniseries? And which show called Odyssey are they adding? Thanks.
Thank you.
I know this is a dumb question, but I cannot find an answer. Is the proper spelling in English “PyeongChang” or “Pyeongchang” (or something else)? Not sure that makes sense - is the capitalized “C” an NBC style choice or actually correct? Thanks.
An expression I have heard somewhat often since moving to the U.S. is “chop-chop” but, though it bothers me to hear it/feels wrong, I have no idea if it was originally truly racist or not. Anyone know one way or the other?
Not that it matters at all, and if I am wrong about my thinking on this please someone correct me, but it really bugs me when former SNL cast members show up in sketches, because it it just strikes me that they are taking away time from members of the current cast.
“The lawsuit also claims that the companies intentionally shunted the series onto on-demand streaming networks, rather than TV or DVDs, as a way to cheat Norris out of the associated licensing money.”
Going only by the trailer I swear the movie was meant to be a remake/reboot for a new Deep Blue Sea franchise (greedy for that sweet Sharknado money?) and for some legal reason after it was completed they had to rename it. Even for a lazy “just tick off all the same boxes cause that is what folks want” type sequel it…
Sad to hear. If I am not mistaken she was also an actor. Not that I am up on her career but, unless I have been confusing her with someone else all these years (not an impossibility), she was in Cast Away as the person who crosses paths with Tom Hanks’ character and gives him directions at the end of the movie.
I know I am missing something but are there doctors, nurses, etc., in the U.S. being told they HAVE to perform any procedures or treat patients that they do not want to treat (or are not capable of treating)?
Have to say surprised by this casting.
I could maybe see this as an okay idea, but only with vodka (or are there other alcohols that are good at really cold temps?), if you froze the bottles so that the ice only reached to a certain level, say the bottom of the neck of the bottle, so the bottle could still be opened, the top unscrewed.
Full disclosure I am terrible at texting which is why I almost never text, but I have zero problem with someone not texting back right away in most cases, especially if I texted them first. But, and not sure how to put this to make sense, if someone starts the conversation they should be ready to answer back, not…
