Just to be clear I am not claiming to be correct - I cannot remember the last time I used either my press or my waffle iron - but do some of the cooking times seem off to anyone else? Thanks.

Odd question* but is Ohio considered part of the South? I always thought it was part of the Midwest, but I just looked it up on a map and it does border on Kentucky and West Virginia, so are parts of it considered Southern?

(If you are asking about the star image) It looks like the Demon Star from Ostrander and Truman’s Grimjack comic series (though it may have predated that), art by Tim Truman.

Any chance the “Crab Rangoon” story was the result of dialing a wrong number? I swear it sounds like C.E. Arnold accidentally called the number of someone who was always getting calls for the restaurant (cause their number was only one number off from the restaurant’s number or whatever) and the folks at the other end

You know what is really sad, when I saw the Amy Schumer Star Wars pics my first thought was that isn’t the way lightsabers work and that a lightsaber blade is so long that it should be jutting through her cheek. No wonder people make fun of me.

I don’t know, if it was an original Scrooge McDuck by Carl Barks (and I had a place) I would love to hang it up.

What is the purpose of a birth certificate in the U.S.? I only ask because all of our birth certificates list the biological parents, not our parents’ names, in our family. I always thought the birth certificate was meant to be a medical record of the birth (date, place, time, etc.). Perhaps there should be more

I cannot believe I am typing this, but in its own way, this is kind of genius.

Is that Gordon Elliot (or Elliott?) in the picture with them? I would have thought he was smarter (more media savvy?) than to put up with (or be caught dead around) racists like the Deens.

Not familiar with any of the production folks you named so I had to google all the players, and this is probably a really dumb question (especially since you did not mention it as a theory), but could it be some kind of inside cast joke aimed at, or self deprecating humour by, the current director* Justin Lin?

TMZ is reporting it now as news? Someone here at Jez wrote about this a couple of months back. I only remember because I was curious how Ms. Obama could work as an intern given her age (because of my really old age I keep thinking she is younger than she is).

That is sort of what I thought it meant/what I thought the author was going for (though you put it better than I could) but was not sure (really, I usually get it wrong, which is why I love the Urban Dictionary).

A defense of Heineken.

[sort of edit 2 because I was too slow to add this] Just re-read what I typed - it comes off as rude or snarky, not what I intended. Just to be clear I am asking what the word means in this case because I am thick, I do not know, not because anything is badly written.

“... it was so no one would assume anything slant about my body ...”

Didn’t Instagram (maybe Flikr, or one of the other companies that uses photo tags) just go through this a couple of months back? You would think that everyone would have tested their respective systems because of that problem.

It has been years since I read some of the Poldark Saga* novels but, assuming more series are made, have the showrunners said how closely will they be following the books, or if they are changing things for a new audience, updating things?

Per Chief Justice Roberts “In short, our Constitution does not enact any one theory of marriage.”

What the hell? I am not at all sure I understand what I have just read, but is there any chance this lawyer was trying to do some type of preemptive first strike maneuver to make sure a law like this could never be on the books? Sorry, I am just totally lost by this. How does someone come up with something like this?

Are we sure it was not Minka Kelly who sang “Lovefool” and Leighton Meester who graduated from culinary school?
