No Doctor Manhattan?
"Following legal pressure from pro-life clinics ... the U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear an appeal that challenges a 2011 ruling that requires New York crisis pregnancy centers to inform women as to whether or not they staff licensed medical providers."
I understand now that it was not public knowledge then (or until this past week) but - and I did not phrase my original post correctly, I should have included that this came up months ago on whichever of the NPR shows I was listening to - the way Mr. Cook's being gay was offhandedly referenced, added to none of the…
Not that it really matters at all or adds anything, but I just thought Mr. Cook being out was public knowledge simply because it has been mentioned in passing before on NPR, either on "All Things Considered" or "The Diane Rehm Show"'s Friday news roundup. It was not until I read a Sam Biddle post here that I learned…
It is, but I'm a transplant so I do not know how or why the word is in use with older (my age/sixties or so) folks. Also, I never heard the word used in Charlotte, I only heard it when I moved here (small town, middle of nowhere, NC).
I am in NC and that is what I still hear thick used to mean stupid (well, slow - and usually directed at me), but we still use zaftig (which I think is roughly the same as BBW?) so maybe it is an age or out-of-touch thing?
I am not claiming to be right/this is just a guess because it sort of looks like him, plus I do not know where that is from, but could it be an actor named Johnathan Schaech?
A friend of mine has said that he removes his pants (or possibly his shirt and pants) and hangs them up just to avoid wrinkling his clothes when using the restroom.
Isn't there already a sequel to "Rocky Horror" - "Shock Treatment"?
(Ignore/skip this, nothing interesting, it is just a nonsensical rant about a very small/unimportant paragraph in the original article)
Only slightly related to this - is it my imagination* or is Directv (for their NFL package) running a stealth commercial featuring a gay couple (or a commercial featuring a stealth gay couple, either way)?
Re: the Floyd Mayweather tip thing. Having no direct experience with a restaurant cheque over maybe a thouand bucks (set up in advance for a group) does something like that just go on a card? Does he sign for it? Are there places you can just walk in off the street unannounced and run up a huge tab like that…
Is there any chance it was Ms. Strong's choice/she asked to leave Weekend Update? I only ask because there were several shows last season where in addition to being on the desk she seemed to be in every sketch (not a complaint).
I kind of get the pizza box question. The local/non-chain place down the street uses one size box for all their pies (or even if you just pick up a couple of slices to go) and there have been a couple of times where I thought because of the box size vs. pie size they subbed an extra large for a large.
Nothing important or anything, just curiosity, but does anyone else spend (possibly way way too much) time looking at the pixilated/filtered/masked images on the site trying to guess what they might be before doing the clicking to reveal thing? I cannot be the only one.
The product has been on the shelves around here for a while (at least at the drugstore where I pick up meds), and the commercials have been running for at least a couple of months, but until I read this article I thought "Berocca" was some type of energy booster (like the five-hour stuff/truck stop energy…
My dad recently had a roughly three week stay in the hospital. I just assumed they would bring him whatever. No. They had a full breakfast, lunch, and supper/dinner menu for him to order from. Because he is aphasic or dysphasic (depending on who examines him) I had to order all his meals and I was amazed by the…
Just to be clear that I do not understand the reasoning behind the school's rule*, nor do I in any way like or agree with the way this was handled (not sure how to put it but) or that it had to be handled, but I am wondering if the school properly informed this family and other families of the (to me stupid) dress…
