I don’t know if it is a requirement but some companies do provide an estimate of how long and sometimes how much interest would accrue.

It normally isn’t that easy or allowable without special permission from the school district. The teacher should be reprimanded and should publicly apologize. If anything they should offer to transfer the child to another classroom with a more understanding teacher - if possible...
