Appears only a very small amount of people know what is actually going on here. Let me help you out. Tesla claims the car has a 300hp and 400hp motor. Well obviously thats a 700hp car right? Wrong. Both motors never make peak HP at the same time due to battery current limitations. That’s what this is all about. Tesla

“Insane mode” is not actually insane, it’s merely ill-tempered.

bummer :(

Also outside temp, tire pressure, etc affect it. It’s cold in Norway. That doesn’t help grip at all.

If youre still on the original tires, and there wasnt an option for which ones to get, just a single default tire...then you should be able to reach the claimed numbers on a reasonably well prepared surface.

I think I read somewhere the motors can produce the power, but the battery can’t supply enough amperage for both motors to generate full power at the same time.

System loss (waste heat, traction management, and such) and the batteries can only supply full power on 100% charge. In effect Tesla advertises “crank horsepower” (motor power) while these people are thinking that number is wheel HP.

Can I sue other car manufacturers for giving HP numbers at the crank instead of at the wheel? I can't drive with just the engine, I want my missing HP.

Were they expecting their cars to go to plaid?

Gizmodo readers: “This is funny, regardless of your political views.”

Crazy people: “Blah blah blah, politics on Gizmodo/ what about Killary... blah blah.”

Remember when all commentators on Giz were witty, snarky, sarcastic, and aware of the culture of the site?

Maybe it’s the fact that it has words on it because there are people in the room to give a speech to? I’m guessing that since Clinton doesn’t have anyone at her events, the teleprompter would just be blank?

I’m not sure what I am supposed to be seeing here.

Thanks Obama

This is trick photography.

In 30 years, the whole world will only have Google, Apple, Amazon, Walmart and Facebook. And every restaurant will be Taco Bell.

Facebook is a tech company the way Google is a tech company - It’s not. They’re advertising companies which use tech. Just because your ad platform requires tech to exist, doesn’t make you a tech company. Facebook doesn’t sell technology so it’s not a tech company. Google sells an absolutely trivial amount of tech, so

This is VERY, VERY true. That was truly a great moment for everyone.

While the app promises many more features in the weeks ahead, right now it’s a half-assed exercise in complacency.
