Why do they have those low ratings? If the S-Class can tow around 5000 pounds in Europe I don't see why it wouldn't be able to do that in the US.

I see your standpoint and now see why the CLA won’t make sense for you. I’m coming from the complete opposite, would rather have more amenities than a huge engine for the same price. And if you’re going used for the same price and just new a whole lot of possibilities open up.
Valid points, though entry level luxury like the CLA is still very nice of a car. Given that the CLA is built on the same platform as Mercedes fwd hatchback and compact minivan, it will never be able to offer the ubiquitous luxury of an S550. That said I found the materials nice to touch, the lack of road and engine…
A-Class and Honda Fit are both compact cars, Accord/Maxima are ‘sport’ midsize sedans. I’m not even going to get started on the whole interior or perceived value thing. Besides, I don't know of any market the Maxima and A-Class are sold side by side except the UAE.
You haven’t tried the CLA have you? I personally have to sake my head at people like you, your blind hatred makes you miss out on something!
Yes, I really do think that! I drive an A-Class (the smaller sister of the B) and have a friend with a 1-series.
Inflation adjusted these $58k of the 2009 come out at exactly $63.8k, so I’d say the price for that generation has stayed the same overall.
I love the look of the new Cadillacs. I love the thought of an Elmiraj and Ciel if it comes to American luxury, but:
On the Mercedes website. Here’s the factory option for an electric tow hitch
Came here to post this. *Insert thank you gif*
It always comes down to personal preference - I’d always go for more comfort options instead of a bigger engine because you can only go the speed limit either way and the way I drive - only hitting more than 2000rpm on onramps - I don't really feel the difference in weight etc :)
The tow ratings I quoted are directly from Mercedes. A trailer hitch is even a stock option, picture attached for reference. In fact a friend of mine just ordered one that way. In Europe I’ve easily pulled 5-7000 lbs with anything from an A-Class to a Range Rover so I don’t really see the need for upgrades in brakes…
All the generations from 1998 until today. I’m pretty confident the stock brakes and coolings will suffice. The hitch can be installed at any dealer, just make sure it doesn’t have the AMG line as the lower rear bumper doesn't leave place for the hitch.
To each his own, I feel more comfortable in the bigger, safer and more spacious car. My point is the higher you sit the more you see, speaking from experience with an M3 coupe / Panamera / C-Class and Mercedes GL / Range Rover.
The higher your pop, the more you see. Physics.
It seems to be a big misconception in America that only the biggest SUVs and pickups can tow things. The S-Class is rated for about 5000 lbs, even the GLK is.
Add me to your list, cause I love Mercedes and like Cheesecake Factory
I love those! And I love the MKT BECAUSE of it’s styling. The elegant curves are so much better than an Escalade in my opinion, which just looks like slab of marble.
The Apple watch is for people who a) want a watch and b) for situations where it’s simply inconvenient to take out your iPhone.
Yes! Didn’t know why I had to scroll down that far :)
