That sounds nice! I personally like the C300 for what it is. Even though the Cayenne V6 seems relatively reasonably priced to me, it should be better at nearly twice the price of the C-Class.

Funny enough, I have a friend who immigrated from Germany to Norway as well. Surprisingly you see quite a lot XC90s here, the V8 is a rather rare though. Most of them are 3.2s.

I’d suggest a base model C-Class :)

That’s why he said American badges not ‘domestically owned car manufacturers’ duh.

It is in it’s second year now. I’d love to give it to RCR Guy, but unfortunately the car is in the UAE so that might be a bit of a stretch for both of us :)

Yeah, the price probably talked most people out of a sub 7 second family hauler. Most I see are the 3.2s. It’s a pretty nice ride when it works, especially thanks to loads of torque, great stereo and a reassuring safety record. Even looks great, as it has the factory sports package and sports a dark green exterior

Yep, that shitty world is called Europe :) I’ll definitely move to the US once I’ve graduated. Love the country, the people and the prices, especially the (lack of) taxes.

Cause you’d rather drive a practical like an A8/S/Range instead of a super expensive toy that you only use twice a month anyway? Renting it makes much more sense to me.

Which MB do you have? I take your point as a compliment to the Cayennes driving characteristics..

I actually prefer the looks of the Cayenne. Plus higher seating position which is great for getting in and out, overview in traffic or strapping kids in their seats. It’s also twice the size of the Panamera inside...

I see. This seems to be common practice, Mercedes’ Hybrids aren't allowed to tow either.

The 918 looks better (great for getting chicks and my own eyes), has better fuel economy (I live in Europe), it’s a convertible, you can get over bumps thanks to a lifting mechanism in the front axle, it is more comfortable thanks to things like ac and PCM, it is much much easier to drive for the average person and

Huh? The new Cayenne is rated to tow 7700 lbs!

I’d rather have the LS600h than the Panamera or 919...

Also Mercedes has E-Class diesel hybrids, C-Class plug-in hybrids, S-Class diesel hybrids and the new S500 plug in hybrid!

The V8, in my understanding, was introduced for the XC90 to provide a powertrain americans would actually want. Many, many complaints about the sluggish 3.2 back then and today.

Cayenne for family duties and 918 for the weekends

Because every time you look at the WRX or actually sit in it you wish you would have bought either an S6 or a W220.

No it should not be illegal. On these types of roads yes, on interstates and freeways not.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a long reply!
