Yes they were and why so? I’d rather with an old ML than anything Japanese or Korean and that is the right decision based on driving experience. The Asians may be more reliable but that’s not hard to achieve with a piece of soulless plastic based on 90s tech.

I’ve longer been looking into the aforementioned ML270 CDI with a particle filter and that’s where I got my prices from. Gas engine is the deal breaker here, you’re right.

Sounds like too much work for too old of a car. I’d probably have sold it as well..

Holy f $1500 bucks? What was wrong with that car? Here in Germany decent ones go for around $8-10k.

Door sills are fine and even wanted, I prefer being seated “throne-like” like the Caddy or Range do it - But touching the center console with your knees? Eww no. Wouldn't want to imagine how my knee is shattered in a small offset crash.

I don’t know how people stand driving small cars. No space inside to put your arms, legs or head and you always feel cramped. Due to the safety regulations these days everything under an E-Class feels terrifyingly small inside.

I’d rather pay the bills on a Range than $90k for a Cadillac. Have you seen the interior quality in this?

Large car, large price tag. It’s a full-size sedan for $50k, that sounds pretty alright to me these days. A CLA with some options comes in at $45k.

If you show serious interest in the car and not come off as some internet-based fanboy Mercedes will happily let you take it for a test drive.

Lol. If someone is really interested in the R, they’ll buy it nonetheless if it has some miles on it. I highly doubt there are enough people seriously interested in a German $40k hatchback to drive all those miles into the several hundreds.

Not sure if trolling or serious.

They do build them, but they mostly fly under the radar as a lot of older Patrols are around unmodified as well.

Pretty sure rallying is off-asphalt, but not off-road.

I’m tempted to almost like the Drogheda with those wheels.

The V-Class / Metris is pretty dope though. The Citan is worse than the Vaneo and that has to say sth.

This! I don’t understand how you need 500hp in the land of 55mph speed limits, but they will sure sell as long as fuel costs next to nothing.

Easy with diesel, works just fine for the Mitsubishi L200 or Ford Ranger

Eh, no. They continue to exist because of their safety solutions and their phones which have the best keyboards around. Look up the Passport, BlackBerrys newest phone.

Pretty sure BlackBerry is gonna exist in 3 years, be it just as a software company with BES and QNX.

Abso-fucking-lutely disagree with LAX.
