You called out Breitbart in the title. This article’s going to have double the comments it has now in about four hours (bringing it to 16).

It’s a great movie, for what it is. But it also pretends that people of colour existed like Oompa-Loompas, or The Lollipop Guild. As in, happy to sweep and toil and sing sweet songs to you, but not requiring anything from you more strenuous than a pat on the head.

Dude. We spend $84M per year on erectile dysfunction medication for our military. Don’t even *pretend* that you’re worried about the economics of this - the costs would be at most one-tenth the Viagra budget.

The average age of enlistment is below 21. Plenty of trans people either don’t realize they’re trans or don’t come out until they’re older than that; and, even if they begin transitioning when they’re younger, shouldn’t necessarily be having every surgery they might potentially want in their teens and/or can’t afford

The military has not historically covered gender-transition surgeries, though President Barack Obama did announce plans for it to begin doing so. That cost would be between $2.4 million and $8.4 million annually for transition-related costs, according to a RAND analysis commissioned by the Department of Defense.

The general reasoning appears to be either, “It doesn’t affect me, so why should I care?” or “yeah, bet that will piss off some libtards!”

Definitely- Gorka and Bannon are still in the loop and advising 45. They can do it out of the spotlight now.

One of Dubya’s lawyers just flat out called the administration racist, as a massive hurricane is in play. We live in strange times.

I’d really wish we’d lived in the version where Gorka didn’t resign and Arpaio wasn’t pardoned.

Christ, what an asshole!

Donald Trump doesn’t care about[insert anyone not named Donald Trump]

At least Gorka resigned.

Heckuva job, Trumpie.

Rhythmless Nation 2017

Everything about this adaptation seems lazy. All I keep thinking of is how interesting this remake could have been with, say, a first generation immigrant’s kid who spends his time as a model student balancing the push and pull of his parents’ native cultural expectations and his own American expectations

A rushed, hard-to-follow mess which consistently alienates its audience.

I’m definitely checking it out, but I feel like Death Note loses a lot when compressed down into a 100 minute movie. In the anime Light was always kind of a creep but his descent into narcissism and megalomania took longer.

It takes less than 10 minutes for Light to transform from a term-paper-selling loser who lives so close to the train tracks that his dishes rumble off the dinner table into a remorseless Angel-Of-Death-in-training.
