That’s fascinating.

Interesting regarding the E91 numbers.

If I could go back and do it again, that would have been the smart money for me - but those seem to be even rarer than the E61 535xi MT - perhaps because they’re not insane to keep up with on maintenance. Also, I don’t think I could settle for the regular seats in an E90 again - they’re pretty bad.

You must either have far fewer miles (I’ve taken mine from 160k to 212k in 3.5 years), are much easier on your car, or have way better luck than me.

I really like the rack and it’s modularity (most of the time it’s configured for just a single bike). However, it’s not without its own annoying problems.

Excellent pick. Like many others here, my choice is what I currently own - my 535xi MT wagon:

This makes me want to drive all the cars! All of them!

A far worse blunder for Ford - and the world - was Henry Ford adopting Phillips head screws instead of Robertson tapered square head screws, when Robertson (a Canadian) refused to give him exclusive rights in the USA.

It’s crazy indeed!

I don’t get why all the direct-to-consumer sales automotive companies don’t petition to get a ballot proposal to overturn Michigan’s ridiculous law against direct sales. If our legislature won’t modernize our laws, the people of Michigan have proven capable.

That reminds me of when I was driving a 1996 Geo Prizm, which my parents got for me to use while I was in college. It had no AC, crank windows, manual locks, a 1.6 L 4 cylinder with a 3 speed auto transmission and no overdrive, a tape deck, bad stereo, awful seats, and a so-ugly-it’s-funny pumpkin orange - all riding

I actually laughed out loud reading this.

Hear, hear!

Yeah; from the thumbnail view I first thought it was some boutique chassis with a Moto Guzzi engine and a KTM fairing.

As a fellow Michigander - yes, I do myself - but with an asterisk.

That’s fascinating. I have several copies of each of the original trilogy on Laserdisc (the Japanese Special Collection and Special Edition releases), which didn’t cost me in that order of magnitude though they certainly weren’t cheap, but they are indeed a joy to hold in your hands and watch.

Maybe Standartenführer Hans Landa is still alive, and this is his car?

This would so much better if it were called the ‘Vogon Grunt’ instead.
