While I don't want to dictate what people should or shouldn't be wearing, ever since I started wearing black ankle socks, I find that they look so much better with my shoes than white socks.

I don't know if I ever used to understand why people do this, but right now I don't, because one can either buy online or just not get it on the first day.
Wash them down with a degreaser (soap and water works too but will take a lot more work), then oil them. Whenever you want to oil something, especially the chain, it's best to clean it first.
You can always go to sleep one hour earlier. I do it every time.
I've seen the cyclists without lights, going the wrong way, and it angers me every time I see it - they're just asking for it. Bike lights are so inexpensive...I don't see why people don't ever think about getting one.
Yes, I agree with you. I'm not trying to take the blame completely off of pedestrians, but driver behavior plays a big part of it also.
I know there are some cases where these accidents are inevitable, but it can be minimized if drivers were just more careful. Where I live, there are indeed a lot of pedestrians, but in the places where there aren't as much, drivers tend to use the "I didn't see him/her" excuse a lot to try to get off the hook,…
You're supposed to be paying attention to the road, and driving at or below the speed limit, which should give you enough reaction time to stop, unless this person was running.
Airbag for pedestrians...just another way to let reckless drivers off the hook.
I live in Florida (Miami to be exact) and things are changing. Quite a few people are riding bikes here now.
I don't know what I'm missing here, but changing the shutdown button to something else doesn't seem to affect my physical power button. I checked my power profile and it's still at what I set it as from before.
Charging to tether my phone (which is functionality that's already built-in) is NEVER acceptable. Limited or unlimited plan.
I always knew that the list prices on Amazon were exaggerated, but not to the extent shown in this article.
CFL bulbs are harmless as long as they are not broken. I always took great care with incandescent bulbs since they break easily also, so I'm even more careful with CFLs. I'm not worried at all about using them, unless one breaks. I am a chemist, so I am fully aware of the risks of mercury exposure.
Sadly my power company isn't offering any discounts, but I checked Amazon's prices compared to Home Depot's prices, and found that Amazon has some pretty great prices for light bulbs.
I prefer dark backgrounds for my phone, since it has an OLED screen and it would save battery.
That's never happened to me, but I can see how that's scary! Fortunately there's a police department in my neighborhood so I could just take a detour and go there.
Samsung Nexus S on T-Mobile prepaid...and combined with Google Voice, it's the best combination ever (for me), or at least it was, until T-Mobile cut out the Web DayPass from the plan. I have no plan on changing my phone in the near future.
I don't really know why. It works flawlessly in Windows XP.
The functionality is there, it's just that it doesn't cooperate. Sometimes it will keep asking you for credentials, even though you put them in correctly, or if you do manage to set it up, it will show just the folders, but not their contents.
