I have one of the quitest rear hubs I've ever run into on my road bike. It's an Origin-8 RB51/52 in red - you won't be able to hear me coasting towards you. I can't even hear the clicking when I'm riding unless I'm in a super quiet place.

Then I prefer to call myself obsessive. To me, a bike should make no noise at all during operation, with the exception of the tires rolling on the asphalt. That, to me, is a well maintained bike. If I can hear my chain, it's an indication that I should clean and lube it.
