in USA there is a saying (not a common one) that if you want to kill someone, do it with a car. The penalties are next to nothing for murder. Perhaps the same goes for planes.

One year suspended prison sentence for the unlicensed pilot who used a plane as a guillotine and a $22k fine for the company, of which half was suspended? Does indeed sound like a lil whoopsie as far as the French authorities are concerned.

Skydiving companies make money taking people up, bringing the plane back down is nothing but cost. The faster they get back to the ground the faster they get the next group in the air which means they might be able to get more flights up per day.

I tried to get into the dropping skydivers racket as it sounded fun when I was building hours to get hired by an airline and I talked to a few of the pilots. They all had this thing where as soon as you drop, you pull to idle, hard bank turn to lose altitude quickly and would race the jumpers to the ground

Hey man, sometimes when you skydive, you flip a coin.  This time it came heads up.

I was jumping out of a C130 and the guy in front of me had gotten his static line around his neck. Jumpmaster stopped him from going out the door. Flipped the line around and sent him on his way. Good times

Whom amongst us hasn’t decapitated someone by illegally flying a plane.  Could happen to anyone.

...found guilty of operating an aircraft without a valid aeronautical license and was banned from flying for one year.

How about banned from ever getting his license back?

The Common Sceptic calculated that if those people had bought Tesla stock instead of the car, they would have made around 2.3 and 4.something million dollars in the same time, depending on when they sold.

For me it’s the constant advertising of the 10-Year 100k warranty, which they do NOT extend to the 2nd owners. All these people go out and buy these things secondhand thinking theyve got some great warranty coverage, only to find out they’re out of luck when thier $40,000 used telluride pops it motor.

Agreed. The new Model 3 has apparently gone a long way to fix the ride and NVH issues that plagued the old one, and having that applied to the Model Y (which is already considered by most reviewers to be the leader in its class) would be compelling. But man, even without taking Musk into consideration, the whole

Hyundai/Kia have cut a lot of corners (all those engines grenading; the easy to steal ones; and of course their mitigation efforts sort of showing they don’t stand behind their product), so they’re not where I would look for a new class of product where there’s simply not enough experience to know whether they got it

I’m here for this. 2006 Imola Yellow RS4 sedan 6MT. It’s a horrible car to service, but man that sound.....

Not really any brands I truly hate. I’ve had bad experiences with MB, but can’t say that I can’t stand the brand.
But the one brand I’d probably never seriously consider purchasing is VW. Everyone I know that has owned one hasn’t been happy with the reliability of them. That being said, I still like the idea of the Golf

I’m the furthest thing from an Audi fanboy. The cars just seem so sterile to me and are always in some dull shade of blehhhh. But god help me, money no object, I’d be all over an RS6 Avant in a “go fuck yourself” colour like Vegas Yellow.

I wont get into the reasons that I dislike Hyundai/Kia, but suffice to say I’ll never own one. However, the Ioniq 5 is just the COOLEST car, and I would probably own one if I didn’t have my bias against that company.

KIA Ev6 - rented one on vacation, and wanted to hate it, for well, being a Kia - but had too much fun outdragging faster-looking, better pedigreed ICE vehicles on onramps to ignore its charms.

2004 R32. I have a strong disdain for VW pretty much universally, but I’m not gonna lie, I would rock that little hot hatch. The VR6 has a beautiful sound and it just looks good.
