May a strong constitution guide you.

Was Jay Z's cut verse inexplicably about classic monsters again?

I was unaware of this until catching up with John Oliver last night and wow, the 90s really were a time to be alive.

We are too hard on Dowd because he's somewhat hard on stuff, but these are smart choices for A grades (even if I personally disagree on It Follows).

Agreed. I was happily surprised with how the reveal was handled, which is always tricky to get right. Very smart movie.

They are quite popular right now, especially ghost stories, which is likely due to the success of The Conjuring a few years back.

I had a similar experience, though I did like it on first viewing as a teen even if I found it almost too-obtuse. But it did stick with me, and I've returned to it several times since to the point where now it seems to get better, and somehow even more mysterious, with every subsequent viewing.

Everyone talks about Oculus, but I much prefer Flanagan's Hush, his excellent home invasion movie.

I watch everything via streaming, with the exception of some sports I watch live, at which point I'm just appalled at the amount, noise, and "quality" of commercials.

I wish I'd initially registered here as "That Pederast Hanrahan".

You could always sign-up for Crackle, the exclusive streaming home of Chris Gaines.

Well, the general public are morons so…sure.

This seems to be the common thinking these days but I don't agree. I think a really well-made, small personal drama really benefits from the immersion of a big screen experience, where there's less distraction and the lives of the characters have the chance to take on a slightly mythic quality.

Chief?

That's one of his best performances. He never shuts up but there's always this underlying menace to the character.

Just saw Certain Women last night and part of what makes the section with Stewart in it work so well is how it plays her nervous, twitchy, city-girl energy off of Gladstone's calm, patient, watchful performance. It's a lovely dynamic.

This crushes the 14 year old me.

Really? That sucks. I assumed they'd have Roku at launch.
