Quite the opposite.
Quite the opposite.
I said it was a possibility. Which, given the history of the Republican Party–particularly in this state–it is. That is it. That is all. Go fight with someone else.
I’ve lived here a long time. The King County Republicans have shown they have no problem financing and implementing dirty tricks.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That’s some 1984 level of double-think there.
The Seattle Times investigated both earlier claims and found them not credible. Also, some right-wing groups have been backing randos - at election time - in the past. This is the “pattern” you’re now using as evidence of guilt.
It wouldn’t be surprising if Betsy DeVos’ security detail is outsourced to Blackwater (or whatever they’re calling themselves nowadays), so her brother Eric Prince can make a profit off of protecting her. That family always finds a way to squeeze the last million nickels out of the government. Welfare billionaires,…
...who’s “Hillary”?
Don’t forget, it’s Hillary who’d have gone to war with Russia and been unstable in terms of foreign policy. /s
How the hell have we reached the point where the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice is confined to “shit we couldn’t cover today”?
From the Huffington Post
You have a shitty boss. I’m also in advertising, at the VP level (just for context), also in Chicago, and when someone on my team (or their kid) is sick I send them home. The fucking end. Life is more important than any deadline.
It’s normal. I’m not in advertising (travel industry), and I got yelled at when I took a few afternoons to take my infant to the dr. I used my sick time, but when I didn’t answer a call WHILE MY INFANT WAS GETTING EXAMINED, I had to hear about it. In my company’s defense, I heard about it from my clients who could…
I work in higher ed and also have generous time off. But I am expected to pay attention to my email even when I am off and either deal with urgent matters from home or forward the email to my boss. It could be worse. My boyfriend works in IT and he is never not on call. We once spent several hours sitting in a…
This. The idea of lady specific sick leave makes me wary, but generous gender-neutral sick leave is something I can get behind.
Agreed. I don’t like the idea of giving someone extra leave for a specific thing that doesn’t effect everyone (yes, even maternity leave... although I am willing to make an exception but I wish we just had long term medical leave that you could carryover from year to year and either choose to take after giving birth…
But what is “reasonable”?
As a chronic pain sufferer, I would definitely appreciate being able to take a day off when my symptoms are flaring. Then again, this would require people actually acknowledging my disorder (and not firing me as a liability).
I agree with this, but then am stuck with this issue: “working from home”. A few weeks ago I was dying of the flu and still came into the office two days because of my workload. On the third day I couldn’t get out of bed and finally called in one of my UNLIMITED sick days. Except, despite telling everyone I was…
That makes more sense to me. Why make a special carve out for women with terrible periods when you could cover anyone who needs a few extra days off a month to deal with their chronic medical issues, and avoid the sexist backlash in the process?
Maybe we could make sure everyone has adequate sick leave for all the things? I mean many people have chronic recurring health issues of varying degrees.
