CNN should hire Solsback. 18 years old and she’s already a much better political analyst than Wolf Blitzer.

I will say that if you’re not a member of the Greek system, you get great object lessons in being part of a powerless political majority. All of my most radical political changes happened there. Also, the football is good.

The Machine is actually very important to Alabama politics. Its inner circle really does go on to great political prominence in the state, very consistently.

You don’t want to know. I attended Alabama for six years and I’m still kinda shocked by how brazenly this group acted as a political party on campus.

The term was picked by their enemies but apparently they use it now.

No tinfoil hat. This is real. Representatives from a lot of the prestigious houses get together and decide whose turn it is to have the Homecoming Queen, the SGA Senators, the President, etc. They then harass all their members into voting for them, and go campaign to suggestible segments of GDIs. This almost always

A little Alabama politics lesson: It’s the same group of people pushing this horseshit at my alma mater as pushing that horseshit in the legislature. “The Machine” is basically a campus arm of the dominant state political forces.

I’m not a biologist, so I can’t give you really good detail on this, but as I recall both CRISPR and TALENS are enzymes which can be used to selectively edit sequences of DNA. I take it from the joke that CRISPR may be newer.

Burning question: Is David Cameron an investor?

As a fan of the Rockies since they were created, I can only say that you’re absolutely right. Also, your name change is amazing.

I didn’t say it “didn’t matter”. I said that it wasn’t a good sign. California is rapidly depleting its ground water so that farmers can continue pouring water onto fields that don’t even need it to keep the same allocations. That’s not their fault, but we need to change water laws in the Southwest or we’re going to

The agreement was drawn up with an overestimate of the flow of the water. So the fact that California isn’t yet violating its legal obligations (and that would be hard to do since they are at the end of the chain) with regards to overdrawn the Colorado is not a sign that everything is alright.

THC is nonpolar, so I’m thinking that while you might put THC into the soil, I’m not sure the plants could absorb a meaningful amount. But I haven’t done chemistry in a while.

We don’t have to take away agriculture from California, or even massively restrict it. Reasonable reforms to water usage (growing slightly more water-efficient crops, drip irrigation, literally not flooding fields to make sure farmers use up their water allocation, etc.) could easily drop agricultural usage by 10-20%,

I like this.

It’s not simplistic to blame it all on agriculture. In the Western states in general, agriculture uses 80%+ of the water, partly because they are growing weird plants for dry places. California’s cities could cut water usage to 0, and if this drought keeps up, California would still be short on water.

Me fail English? That’s unpossible!

Please don’t compare my favorite Simpsons character to a Republican candidate.

As one of the people who has it out for Greek Life, it has relatively little to do with the idea that Greeks don’t become successful. In fact, because most people in it have richer-than-average parents, they usually wind up fine. My problem is that it is a structure which maintains a huge number of privileges for a

Nobody does all foreign accents well (if you’re lucky you can get about three right). But most people find other people failing at their accent funny, which is lucky.
