Ah Ford did a good enough job leaking all the pics anyway. They can just have a virtual webex with all the technical detail that most buyers don’t give a shit about anyway.
I hate it.
Let’s not overcomplicate this.
How does one know if they are sufficiently fabulous though?
Is my Volvo S60 any less Swedish because it’s built in South Carolina by a Chinese owned company using parts sourced from all over the damn place? Nope. It isn’t. It still has Swedish quirks. It’s still designed in Sweden. By Swedish people and still ‘feels’ Swedish to me. Sure it’s now ridiculously unreliable and…
I’m very much looking forward to the inevitable Wrangler/Bronco/Defender group tests. If only Toyota would get on board with giving us a new FJ Cruiser then we can have all the fun chunky off road stylings with a vehicle that can actually be relied upon.
I.....kinda like it? Sorry. But then a V60 Polestar is my dream car so my tastes are a little more unusual.
3rd Gear - i’m very confused about Toyota being out of the top. I guess this is because less people are buying the Prius because of how disgusting it looks and more people buying single digit MPG Tundra’s? I would have thought with a whole range of hybrid options (Corolla, Camry, Avalon, RAV4, Highlander) that Toyota…
You and half a billion others my friend (I include myself in that figure too!) a PHEV with 300hp equivalent and the space, reliability, comfort and economy of Toyota? Given dealers can’t even keep the standard RAV4 Hybrid on lots - the Prime is going to be very, very hot.
I agree although pricing the Crosstrek at $8,000 more than the gas version certainly doesn’t help things though. There’s easily the demand for it, but when you can get an upcoming CRV Hybrid with 40mpg for $28k....a $36 smaller and less efficient Crosstrek is a tough sell.
This is welcome news although there are two points to be made. Firstly, somehow, Europe does perfectly fine churning out small hatchbacks like this with barely 100bhp. VW’s Polo which isn’t dissimilar in size to this now has 75bhp has the top selling model. I know it’s a different driving dynamic there but c’mon.…
The RAV4 Hybrid sells at MSRP or maybe even with a dealer mark up, at least here in SoCal where hybrids are king. The CRV is going to be exactly the same and I guarantee you that Honda dealers are going to be far more shitty about trying to sell them - CUV’s with all the space, economy and reliability? If Coronavirus…
Is it just me that finds this confusing. So there isn’t a hybrid GTI, but there is in fact a hybrid GTI, it’s just called the GTE and has the same combined power output as the GTI? So the hybrid GTI (GTE) is a real thing that Americans will actually be able to get?
You’re missing the MOST IMPORTANT news from Subaru - they’re FINALLY giving the Crosstrek an engine that will actually make it move! 180-ish horsepower from a 2.5L. We can all dream that they’ll give it this new engine (a budget version of the GLA45?) but we know they won’t. Still, it’ll address one of the only…
3rd Gear: UUUUH, Since WHEN have Peugeot been making well made, dependable vehicles? Maybe back in the 80's but did you even drive any of the 2000's crap? 405 diesel aside, they were notoriously unreliable.
You should really come visit Los Angeles then. This city can REALLY show Paris what a tent community is.
Yeah as it’s a PNW car - it’s rusting from the top down. Lincoln City probably also gets Ocean Fog like some areas of the SF Bay area - so it leaves the car damp with salty dew every day - perfect for creating this masterpiece.
Nooope. No. Absolutely not. I would be worried about even closing the door a bit hard and the entire thing evaporating into dust. I love it as an art piece and if I lived in Palm Springs…MAYBE it’d survive but taking this poor truck anywhere further East than it already is, is basically murdering it.
