WTF? I disagree with all but the fake intercooler, side vents and chrome.

Or, if you were in Europe, you could get the deranged relative of the Lotus Elise, the Opel Speedster Turbo. It’s based on an Elise prototype chassis, it’s a bit wider and a bit longer, and it has an engine that can be boosted to nearly 300hp with stock internals.
Your level of rally-nerdness is something that I aspire to!
I’m starting to get horror flashbacks. Thanks.
The saddest laugh I had for years.

Ah, the good ol’ LinkedIn stalking. Probably the only social media skill that can actually pay off with, you know, a job -> money -> car.
My advice is to first try a 2-3 day cruise if you have one available nearby. Me and my girlfriend (broke international students in Sweden) got on a summer cruise from Stockholm, trough the amazing archipelago, to Helsinki and back. We had 2 evenings on the ship and a day in Finland. FOR 20 USD. Even with one dinner…
It’s neither, just cheap. This is what happens when there are no tracks to race on.
Yes, one made me feel poor and thus I started hating new cars and bought a shitbox.
You say that as if they don’t rule already - even with all the restrictors and homologation requirements, today’s WRC cars are developed to handle so well that they get the same times as B group despite having half the power/weight ratio.
The engine kills it. It if were a neat VR6/GTI swap then 3K would be reasonable.
I can see the lift-off overseer crashes in all of those places opposite the red. I’d inlcude them in the no-go area.
It’s growing on me. I have no reason to doubt this will age well.
I agree completely, but what I meant is that it obviously has to do with autonomous driving even if this particular car is not a prototype and just a mapping vehicle. Besides, Velodynes are currently being used (not necessarily by MB) to develop the technology in preparation of cheaper LIDARs that can be fitted to…
I am an active safety engineer who has worked on autonomous vehicles as recently as last summer, and yes, it has EVERYTHING to do with autonomous driving as it is one of the main sensor nodes for any application more advanced than lane following and active collision prevention.
The Lexus 86 BRAT
Block@WRC: When he didn’t crash spectacularly, he got beaten by the lower S2000 class cars (that don’t even have a turbo...) on multiple occasions. Doesn’t matter though, everyone had good fun, especially him.
I like that pair better. My favorite design clue from this century.
Frankly, I’m shocked.
