Shit man that sounds perfect :) I'm aiming towards something similar myself (replete with my '74 Triumph Spitfire project!). I'm lucky that we've got a house with quite a lot of space (for poky little England). We're building a 6-berth garage (3x2 bays) in the not too distant future, and there's already a large…
Hell yes it does :)
Fuck that's a good looking car. If the front ends of Aston's V8 Vantage successor looks like that I'm going to have to buy one, whether that means selling all my other worldly possessions or not...
Interesting :) I never knew that

Yeah the old PRV was quite an engine actually. Not an absolute screamer, but a consistently good runner. Throw on some parts from the old Alpine A610s and you should be belting along at a pace that far exceeds the old Simca turbo engine as well :)
I don't think it's got anything at all to do with safety standards (or if so, only slightly). I think it's protectionism. Basically, the US government devised a set of regulations to make foreign auto-makers have to change the design of their cars (to great expense) in order for them to sell them in the US. That way,…
Apparently there's a bit of a trend in Japan where LHD cars are seen to be a little premium compared to RHD ones. Odd, but as far as I know it's still a thing.
Same thing happened with the Peugeot 505 turbo.
That's part of the reason I don't watch as many rallies as i probably should. I love automotive variety, especially in rally :)
If this is true then awww hell yes. Apart from the 4C, the Ghibli and the F-Type I've been utterly disinterested in modern cars.
Very well put :) especially about not getting wrapped up in the mystique. That's what I feel a lot of people tend to do, and end up not appreciating the flaws as well as the positive aspects. Same with E30 M3s at the moment as well.
God damnit. I also really dislike the constant worshipful adoration that these cars get. They're brilliant I'm sure, but I too get turned off by that.
What an excellent way of looking at that phenomenon :)
Auto-dimming mirror: when I buy the car in 10-15 year's time, what is the likelihood this still works, and if it doesn't can I dim it manually?
Me too. Less weight high up in the chassis, fewer things to go wrong, more headroom and one less place for rust to attack.
I just googled 'off road Tercel' and apparently there's quite a few 4WD ones :)
