Honestly, I don’t think Americans are more tolerant, just that we have a different set of exigent concerns. Americans are plenty intolerant of some populations that are actually here. We also have a disturbing amount of disaffected youth.

Well, we have supported/ propped up leaders who did those things - so some people see that as our foreign policy by extension.

It isn’t just angry Muslims & folks in Europe. I have seen news reports of young people, not all Muslim & not all immigrants/ children of immigrants, in the US, who attempted to join ISIS.

They would most likely have to explain a prison term. Try to join ISIS or return from them & in the US that young person would face charges.

Well, it is an issue in my hometown. No one calls them upstanding citizens to my knowledge. It is criminal & largely exploitive to boot.

Zero. The surrogate is a whole other adult. The surrogate can decide to not continue the pregnancy. The parents can’t compel anything. They can argue about who pays. They can create a contract about things the surrogate should do, like diet/ healthy living, but I don’t even know how much legal water that holds.

They (various governments) need to get better at reaching teens and young adults via the internet / social media & interrupting ISIS’ messages to these people. ISIS is reaching out to youngsters who feel powerless & this is a demographic that goverenments ignore unless they need soldiers.

Naw. This was a surrogate pregnancy. There should have been many, many hours spent in deliberation and research. Any adult who signs up to be a parent - a part from all the extraneous info- and then abandons said child - would elicit the same negative response from me.

No - I doubt any contracts exist to require a surrogate to abort.

I am not defending the show. I have read my share of alternate history fiction & it all has an aura of cheese to me.

Except of course - had you read the book - you’d understood that the creators didn’t need an “excuse” to not cast actors of color. Without having read the book- you don’t know how much of what you find an “ahistorical cheesy mess” is actually Dick’s work.
