Didn’t you know: Jesus wanted the poor and down trodden to give more, while asking nothing of the rich. /s

He also preached to survivors not to give in to a “victimhood mentality” then passed around the collection plate. I’m not kidding. He passed around the collection plate asking people who have probably lost everything to give him money. This guy has no shame and doesn’t even pretend to be anything other than a money

This is very heartening to read.

Good, I know a bunch of nurses. They already get assaulted by patients and patients friends/family. They do not have to worry about adding police to the list.

just to throw my somewhat SMH anecdote into this:

I still remember that and rage, IIRC it was in a city with a fairly large Asian-American population like Seattle, too.

See Chloe’s last bout with controversy around Gigi Haddid and her stupid Buddha IG post

I hear you. I’m mixed Filipina and Caucasian (born in the Philippines and raised in various places in Asia and the US) and my last name is Brown. Except for the brief time I was married, when it was Wheat. Luckily, my first name is *just* ethnic enough so that people’s heads don’t explode.

Ouch. I remember very clearly the first time I encountered racism at the age of 8. Moved to a blue-collar neighborhood in a suburb of Pittsburgh, and hoo boy, it was bad. My grandparents were living with us, and they didn’t speak English. My grandfather (Chinese WWII vet, survived multiple political purges in

What a trite display of fearful middle-class apathy. Yawn.

The problem is that even if you are successful, certain industries will ostracize you if you’ve sued for discrimination. You will not work in that field again. This is systemic racism at its best. My blood boils when I remember how much my parents took in order to provide for us yet I often find myself in similar

This is what makes me feel white even though I’m 1/2 Chinese. I’ve never experienced this, maybe it’s due to the area I live in or that it takes too long to figure out that I’m only 50% white.

WE HAVE OUR GOLD MEDALIST IN THE OPPRESSION OLYMPICS, EVERYONE!

It’s horrible. My husband is Chinese American, our child will be mixed this way. His parents changed their name from Tien to Tan when they moved here to get jobs easier though his father had a masters in mechanical engineering from UCLA. Still had issues. My husband says he didn’t realize any major issues with his

I applied for the exact same jobs but used my husband’s Caucasian name instead of my own the second time. Guess which name got interviews?

Fuck, I get this a lot too. I used to work at a Japanese restaurant and customers would always be like, but what’s your REAL name? Normally I would just ignore the question but when I’m feeling extra bitchy I’d say Ling Ling or Mitsubishi.

Here’s another example of this with Kimberly McCullough (Robin on General Hospital and an aspiring director). From her blog in 2014.
