I think the bigger problem is that the NRA is now a lobbying group for gun makers, not for gun owners — and there is a pretty big gulf between what each group wants.

the people in charge of running Congress right now seem fundamentally incapable of prioritizing their living, breathing constituents over—frankly, I don’t know what!
I’m a former teacher *and* I’m someone who was trained on how to use a firearm by an NRA-certified safety instructor. Not in a million years would I have brought a loaded firearm into my classroom for “protection”. No way, no how. And yet somehow people think that teachers will just magically become Rambo and be able…
I had the rules of gun safety drilled into my head before I was even allowed to start using an air rifle to practice my aim, much less use a real one. I know for a fact that if I’d slipped up once at the range, the day would’ve been over.
A quick check shows that the shooter was at last 250 to 300 yards from the area he fired at. Very few, if any hanguns, have an effective lethal or even injury range beyond a hundred yards, even in the hands of a trained shooter.
I’ve fired firearms. I don’t intend to own any, but I was trained in gun safety and how to shoot by an NRA safety instructor I knew from church who was a Korean War vet. The man was actually for common sense gun legislation because he knew first-hand the kind of damage firearms can do.
A psychopath / narcissist who wouldn’t know empathy if it slapped him in the face.
Not to mention, you’ve got a shooter with what’s essentially a sniper’s perch — 300 feet above you with a clear line of sight. Even with a long gun, the odds of you having time to set up a shot from the ground and return fire in the midst of a mass panic would be slim to none.
I’m beyond sad that there’s been another senseless mass shooting in America. Instead of sadness, I’m feeling anger.
The more telling thing is that the same people who fly Confederate flags and proclaim Confederate soldiers were heroes for “fighting against an oppressive government” / “fighting for their rights” are the same ones stating that POC who are peacefully protesting against police brutality are thugs who deserve to lose…
I was 100% Team Al when I watched Home Improvement.
Tim, as a man I have to say this: Your show was not at all funny. The fact that it made it one season, much less six, means ABC cut you a lot more slack than most series.
Sessions told the crowd. “But it is transforming into an echo chamber of political correctness and homogenous thought, a shelter for fragile egos.
As a Cubs fan: Lighten up, Jon. Seriously, *this* is what you get mad about? Not your 4+ ERA for the 2017 season?
I’ve had a few Korean cars as rentals in the past few years on trips. The things were abused as all rental cars are but still worked like champs.
He set up a POP3 server in his parents’ basement.
In the knock-off shoe case, her legal team has already argued she shouldn’t be made to appear in court because she’s a “high level government official”, lol.
Given that Kushner is a “shadow diplomat” who has gone to the Middle East for talks with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, what do you think the odds are the he has classified information in his email? What also do you think the odds are that he is furiously deleting his emails in order to pretend like he doesn’t have…
I have one of those stories too! Two jackasses were street racing in heavy traffic on the Ike in Chicago, cutting people off and forcing people off the road. As I came around a bend, I saw two IL State Police units had the cars pulled overs and the drivers out at gunpoint.
Frida is a very good doggo.
