I’m in my early 30's. I carry a set of crush-proof LED road flares in my trunk (along with a first aid kit and fire extinguisher). I’ve lost and replaced a couple of the LED flares over the years from fire trucks arriving on accident scene and parking right on top of the flares, but they’re worth keeping handy.

As someone who’s been to NYC more than a few times: Times Square sucks. It’s a tourist trap at best, and nothing more. Walk near it to see the giant billboards, etc., but don’t walk into it.

It’s sad that in almost any other country, that’d be the bare minimum (or below), but considering how many companies don’t offer paternity leave at all, I’ll take it.

My Mom got rear-ended at a traffic light several years ago. She took the car to get fixed ($4k repair). Not even 6 weeks after it was fixed, she got rear-ended at a stop sign, resulting in a $5k repair. It happens more often than you’d think.
