Translation: “You’re persecuting me for being a persecutor.”

These people are just jealous of actual persecution. The very same person who would decry criticism of Amy Coney Barrett’s religious belief is the same person who would say, without a hint of irony, that a Muslim judge should not be allowed because of their religion, and I’m sure they also have some feelings about RBG

Trump is a bumbling oaf of an evil fuck that can’t die soon enough.
But Moscow Mitch on the other hand is a far greater type of evil fuck who has orchestrated this death spiral for democracy over decades of sinister plotting.
Can’t even find words vile enough to accurately describe that rancid cunt. If he was dragged

I want either the moderator or McGrath to ask him what he’s smiling and laughing about and compel him to come up with an answer. It’s like when misogynists make a sexist “joke”: what’s funny? Explain the “joke” to me. Explain what is amusing about your constituents losing their jobs, losing their healthcare, and

Yes. Critical examination of philosophical\religious beliefs is not tantamount to “persecution”. As has been pointed out so many times, it’s rich that the fascists mock liberals for being snowflakes when they bray so loudly about being victims....while they’re the ones in power.

That whole quote where “the wife must submit to the husband” as the Church submits to God just makes it sound like God is fucking the Church.

Any person’s religious beliefs should be questioned. Theoretically, we have separation of church and state.  Religion is just another form of corruption and power. If it weren’t there wouldn’t be so many of them.

Given that over half of the SCOTUS justices are Catholic, it’s hard to imagine that there’s anti-Catholic bigotry in these appointments. Non-religious people have a much stronger case to make (as do Protestants).

I really want to know what being a mother has to do with being a Supreme Court Justice. Did anyone ask Brett how he had time to drink beer, work, and raise his kids?

I’ll settle for people who are less shit at being a human.

I don’t know for sure but I would assume that she “does it” with a lot of paid help, which her and her husband can easily afford, Senator Lee. Maybe you should be asking the same of all the parents in this country currently struggling to “do it” after losing their jobs and their stimulus relief.

Why should anyone care how good of a wife or mother she is? She’s not being nominated for official wife and/or mother of the Supreme Court. She’s being nominated to sit on the court as a justice.

Senator John Cornyn lifted Barrett up as a role model for young women, balancing work and motherhood. “How do you do it?” he asked.’

There’d be only a fleeing moment of cognitive dissonance before they called up their rich private doctor to give her an abortion off the books.

The Senate is really where democracy has chosen to go to die. There is no good faith governance as long as McConnell is still breathing and carrying water for the worst president in American history. He has pretty much destroyed the idea that the Senate is a ‘collegial’ place if it ever really was one.

So, how would she feel if one of her daughters wanted an abortion?

Just some reminders to keep everyone grounded for the bad faith bullshit that lies ahead (along with what I’m sure will be a stumble or two from Dems).

You are not alone.
