They don't. We just got one. So it's good to let it drift to a stop, then you should probably lightly press the brakes.

One BIG difference between the Bolt and the Leaf is thermal management on the battery. The Bolt uses liquid cooling, while the Leaf... doesn’t. They also have a full page in the manual stating things like “don’t park it in the sun” and other weirdness.

Only if the battery doesn't have some sort of heat management. I'd be okay with doing this on a Bolt-style battery. Not a Nissan Leaf though.

Heh I found this article while searching for Bolt fires because we’re getting one, and everything I’ve learned so far is that Bolt/Volt batteries are built with thicker casings and fire retardant materials, so there’s been no battery fires yet. Basically if one cell ignites it won’t set off the next one.
