Kid, it's a school night. Hit the sheets.

I would be more swayed if people were to actually engage with my arguments. I can restate and rephrase at length your guys' arguments for locking him up; but whenever someone claims to read my arguments back to me, it's always some comical one-line "artists should be able to do as they please" bullshit, which I never…
Our mentality in the USA regarding incarceration is off-the-charts insane. Fuck rehabilitation, fuck social purpose, fuck keeping dangerous people off the street, just lock 'em up!
Who said anything about him being rich and famous? The point is incarcerating him would have no point anymore. It would have had a point way back when he committed the deed. Now, not so much.
Plenty of poor people have committed sexual assault and gotten off (no pun) too! It's funny how all sorts of things have happened in this big crazy world of ours.
Congratulations, you neither answered the question nor provided a source!
Never said that, or anything close to that. Nice try, though, putting words in my mouth!
You guys have, like, taken a blood oath to vigorously mis-read my comments and mischaracterize my position to suit your emotional needs.
I know, right? Fuckin' throw the fucker into prison and throw away the key. Serves him right. Justice! USA! USA!
Plot twist: I'm your Dad.
That's true.
That's a stretch I think. The whole issue with this case is it's a judgment call. It has a lot of hyper-specific details that add up to a weird situation where otherwise conscientious people are arguing for him to be let off the hook.
Hey, that was me, and I argued brilliantly.
You are the coolest person I've encountered on the Internet all week!
Source? Best I can find is that it's not known if he ever made the last payment.
That seems a little condescending to say that, though. "She's not really ready to forgive him, your honor, she's still traumatized, she just doesn't know it!"
I'm for locking up rapists when and if they're still a danger to others. I get the whole punishment part, but maybe it's just my model of incarceration that I think "punishment" is the least important part of the process. Yes, going to the clink is/should be punishment, but we're insane in this country going overboard…
In the US of A, arguing for mercy and clemency is a fool's errand it seems.
I agree with you, but there aren't many of us. I tried to reason this position in the earlier article about RP, but all I got was a chorus of "aaarrggghghgh jail the fucker no mercy aaaauuuuggggrrrr..!"
Nope, try again
