Thanks for providing that. It sounds like a step in the right direction, allowing those that work some place with enough others, like a hospital, but it still seems to leave many people out, if they are some place that doesn’t have a large enough group, like staff at a restaurant.

The question I can’t seem to find an answer to is are people unable to attend (such as scheduled to work during the caucus) unable to participate? it seems like they aren’t able to participate and that seems really unfair, and a way for business to have a greater hand by scheduling people who vote in a way they

I moved to DC almost a decade ago, and muse about moving, but honestly, it is the perfect city for me too, and it is definitely worth a visit. I agree with 1llamarampage regarding doing the touristy things. The monuments are beautiful, and the museums are amazing. My two favorites are the American History Museum and

DC is currently considering lowering their voting age to 16 for all elections including federal (though they can only vote for president since they do not actually get any representation, which is a whole other issue). There was a segment on NPR this morning regarding it, which I unfortunately can’t find. But this

A similar argument was made for giving women the right to vote. I mean, won’t they just vote the way their husband does? I think lowering the age to 16 is reasonable and appropriate and will also help build the habit of voting and being involved in their communities

I do like pumpkin flavored things, but pumpkin whoopie pies are on a whole different level. I grew up near Lancaster, PA, and many of the Amish stands sell baked goods including pumpkin and chocolate whoopie pies. I love chocolate but the pumpkin ones have my heart, they are just perfect, no other pumpkin flavored

Not really much help, but the one decent DL photo I had was after a summer of working as a camp counselor so my normal pale reddish skin had the tiniest bit of color (that isn’t red) to it, so maybe a tad bit of bronzer if you are pale like I am?

All the actors are amazing, but I am especially impressed with Aya Cash and Chris Geere and the small moments where their faces give away exactly what they are feeling, such as the last scene of the last episode last season or when Jimmy and Gretchen hug after she tells him she is clinically depressed. Plus this show

You’re the Worst, it is on FXX on Wednesday nights after The League. It is amazing. It is about half way through its second season. I highly recommend checking it out.

I just came to make the same comment. It was a great episode, though the entire time they were going through it I was “oh hell no” about ever putting myself in that type of situation. I really wish Jez (or The Muse) would write about the show, especially the episode before this week regarding depression, which I

I actually ended up with a veil because everything else was so non-traditional. I wore a short white dress that is casual enough with a cardigan I could probably wear it to work and so I made a short veil (around shoulder length) and brought it to the venue still not sure if I would use it, after showing my friends

So this is long because I have a bunch of thoughts/ comments:

I really want to go and hand out pamphlets about bone marrow donation and information on local blood banks. Since they believe women should give up control of their body for 9 months, I am sure they give a part of their body as regularly as they are able to (I believe every 6 weeks for regular blood donation, 4 weeks

Our wedding was a week and a half ago and it went amazingly well primarily because my husband did most of the work. There were some decisions I made because he didn’t care and others he made because I didn’t care, and when neither of us cared it tended to go to whoever had more availability, which was generally him (I

I think candy/snacks is one of the best ideas, but I am actually pretty excited about ours. We made glasses from beer and wine bottles. We actually only made enough for half our guests, so we then went to ikea, bought inexpensive cups, and painted them with random designs (stripes, polka dots, swirls, etc.). Not

My husband has done most of the cooking this week, but I did make an apple crumble on Sunday, that should have had leftovers, but was completely consumed that night. Tonight I am planning on roasting some peaches I got at the farmers market and then topping them with ricotta and honey. It is something I have been

We are doing a food truck (in less than two weeks). Our original plan was to have two, one with very American food (mac and cheese, bbq, etc.) and one with something more unique and also better for the vegans and allergies, but only the unique option actually got back to us, so we will be having Vietnamese food served

I used to go to Adams Morgan just to go there, sometimes even sober. I was so happy when I found out they opened another location on U Street.

It is Iowa, not sure if I would want to eat raw fish in the mid-west either.

Greek (which unfortunately ended years ago) was also a great show when it came to diversity. While it was still primarily white, there were other races included in the main cast. In addition, there was a gay interracial couple, which I found impressive because it is still uncommon to see interracial couples on tv
