It was "just some idea" that looked way more interesting than Prey ever was. Who cares if it did right by the Prey series? At E3, Prey 2 looked like it could turn out to be an amazing game.

The Wii version has some of the charm of the previous games, though I found the main villain dreadfully boring (his henchmen were good, though). You go to 7 or 8 worlds; about 2 of them are genuinely an interesting idea with cool characters to go along with it, but most of the others feel pretty weak.

I agree, that commenter doesn't seem to have any idea what he wants.

Maybe worse for the final product, but "trying and failing to be funny" is incredibly important if you're trying to hone your comedic craft.

Now playing

I love how horrific this show can seem if you take random clips out of context.

OK, I legitimately laughed at 8:00 when he mentioned the Zergling rush.

Calling this a remix is giving it altogether too much credit. "Toss a song into some software that can slow it down to a fraction of its original speed" takes way, way less work and talent than even the poorest of remixes.

Fluidity is also really, really good.

Fahey's schoolgirl gasp at realizing he can make a red panda with a tail was so entertaining.

The only people I personally know that still follow KH were people who got into it back when it started.

I just don't think "idealized girl next door girlfriend-material" is really a huge leap up from "exaggerated sex object with giant tits". It's still pandering super hard to the male fanbase, with characters that it's easy to like and be somewhat attracted to, as opposed to characters that have anything particularly

"We did that in Enslaved with Trip. People loved her, not because she had big breasts and high heels, but because she felt like someone who could be your girlfriend."

God Tornado?

Good to know! Being able to adjust the wavelength and amplitude does sound like enough freedom that it wouldn't immediately be frustrating. I'll try to remember to give the demo a shot. I was just taking this opportunity to air some grievances I had with Bit.Trip Fate.

This looks interesting, but on the other hand, I played Bit.Trip Fate, and being locked into a sine wave movement pattern was INFURIATING.

Seeing the way the different NPCs react to what may be the end of the world made that game pretty much the most interesting Zelda game ever. It beats most other games where NPCs have nothing interesting to say.

The Mako situation really was unfortunate. I thought exploring the planets was really cool, just not the part where the planets are effing nonstop vertical cliff faces. That's not fun, nor is it realistic to have awkward spires jutting out of everywhere, so what was the point?

This reminds me of how the first trailer for Portal made it seem like it would blow your mind with how tricky and complex the application of the portal technology was. But in reality, no, not really. They teach you like 2-3 basic "moves", and it really didn't take a lot of thought to complete the game.

Anything ever come of all that Deus Ex "cosplay" that was a bunch of stuntmen in parking garages, both in and out of costume?

First they find a way to make a sensible 2D sidescrolling RTS, now they find a way to make a (hopefully) sensible 2D sidescrolling DotA?
