Maybe I need to re-watch but I DID NOT hear any of that - also how the hell would anybody believe that story?

They explained nothing.  I don’t know what show you were watching, but they brushed June’s sudden disappearance under the rug, and no explanation given for Nick, or what happened to him.  Are you kidding me?

What the hell is wrong with this show’s writers?

No explanation given for the previous episode’s misadventures so far.

Really?  They’re seriously not going to explain this?  I think the production staff needs to hire real writers.

NEWS FLASH! The Handmaid’s Tale is a TV show! It is, by nature, fantasy, fiction, science fiction. We, as viewers, demand (or demand is too strong a word - we crave) satisfaction, closure, resolution; the proverbial “Act 3" of a story arc. We want our “heroes” (as if you could call anybody on this show a hero) to win,

Based on my personal metric, the writer is the most important component.  You can’t have a movie without a script; a TV show, a book, a contract, a law, an ... (what do the kids call them?) app.  Ellison was a giant where Cameron was a drone.  Hollywood came knocking on Ellison’s door a few times.

Ellison was one of the greatest writers ever. Right up there with Vonnegut. Cameron is a fine filmmaker, but he’ll never reach the level of an Ellison, a Maugham, a Wolfe, or a Vonnegut.  Cameron admitted he ripped off Ellison. A writer has to protect his work. You should try to check out the documentary, Dreams with

When you get to talking about the concept of equality to different people, you’re going to get a handful of different philosophies. Some people confuse equality with superiority. Some people confuse equality with convenience and opportunity. Some people will argue that slavery is a state of mind; that if you believe

That would be the point where you stand up and say one word - “No.”

I’ll wager I’m older than you, but yes, I could definitely do it. Why would I wait for people to rescue me when I’ve complained time and time again that nobody defends themselves or shows any kind of rebellion on this show?

Cameron would certainly be within his rights to draw inspiration from Ellison’s Outer Limits episodes, the same way writers do riffs on It’s a Wonderful Life or pay homage to The Godfather or what have you.

I don’t understand your question, but I would say this show is enormously unkind, even insulting to women by granting them nothing but victimization.

What is the significance of the big house? We only know Hannah was kept there with a family. They lived there, and then they moved out? Fred takes June to see Hannah just before she is moved out of the house? There were sheets on the furniture, as though they expected to be back after a season? Hannah’s pictures were

I think Aunt Lydia’s backstory would be very similar to what we were denied with Offglen. Lydia has a better life as an “Aunt” than she ever did in the real world. Lonely, at the end of her rope, perhaps a volunteer at a youth center, a rehab facility, or perhaps a Corrections Officer - a people person with no

I would’ve taken the car in the garage.  Chances are Fred’s car is monitored.

Based on what I’ve seen and read, viewers are getting frustrated.  If that continues (with a minimum of breadcrumbs leading to a climax), I give the show another year to “spin it’s wheels,” so to speak and another four years of production.

Kind of a Chandler/Monica or Gilligan/Skipper exchange...

Absolutely agreed completely, and it s enormously frustrating for those of us who crave the structure of a story.  We need a firm, bedrock foundation for a beginning, a balanced middle with action and conflict, and a satisfying resolution.  I feel like (even though this is seen as “early Gilead”) we’re near the end,

Remember June’s brief attempt at escape by airplane? Now, instead of capturing the pilot, hauling him in for questioning (because they would want to know the intricate network of underground systems going to and from Gilead) they shoot him in the head. This is not a rational society. This is not a rational government.
