This is a tech blog - semantics and technicalities are everything. The commenter's love to point out the smallest technicality.

There was a video that explained it in one of gizmodo's 1000 other articles - even though a full shutdown was initiated during the quake it can take weeks or months for the heat to reduce to negligible levels. Thats why continued cooling after a shutdown is absolutely necessary. I guess its not the fission that is

@macd2dot0: By returning the mail to sender, you are increasing your carbon footprint, you are wasting even more of the post offices time, increasing costs for us, causing more resources to be consumed to return the mail to the sender, and in the end the mail still goes to the trash.

@rock99rock: Thats why google offers Google 411 - to build up their speech recognition engine. If enough people with enough accents - and pronunciations use it they will have the ultimate speech to text conversion - and they can impress the world with stuff like what is shown in the article.
