TruTV rocks. In addition to this doc, everyone should check out At Home with Amy Sedaris. It’s hilarious and demented. Well worth the time.
That’s one solution! All kidding aside, I’ve learned a pretty good trick. I just bash on Bush, Jr. whenever anyone talks about politics. It’s effective because no one likes him. Liberals hate him, conservatives hate him, he’s the perfect escape hatch.
There is a valid argument to be made, though. If you voluntarily take out $45k (or substantially more) in student loans to get a degree in a field where you aren’t going to make a great deal of money, who is the “victim”?
I’ll be eager to see how well-received your correct statement is received. This site is hostile to basic economic truisms.
It’s a bit of a catch-22 isn’t it? On the one hand, the hotline exists because white guys are actually HAVING conversations that bring up race. On the other hand, “racism exists because white folks avoid these conversations.”
True, but now that streaming services are so popular, they’ll figure out a way to make you pay more to get them. Right now, they don’t get any share of that pie.
But throughout my merlot-filled tirade, I never used racially offensive insults nor wished for physical violence or sexual assault.
Is that a reference to the 2016 election?
“You know who shut the fuck up? Hillary! Haha! Trump kicked her ass! How’d you like that, GLORY BOY! Trump forever!”
Good points and than you for pointing that out.
I think that any sexual harassment has a negative effect on those receiving it, but my point was that politicians groping women happened a lot and happened so frequently that I genuinely do think of it as being “garden variety.” I’m not saying that to downplay, but just to point out that it happened all the time, as…
If it bothers you, then I’ll say “Yes, it is.”
You don’t know if it’s “literally” true or not and, at the time the author wrote this article, (s)he didn’t either. Had the author waited, she could have then actually included the facts that later became known.
No, it’s not.
I agree with everything you wrote there but if these stories are true, it makes the old “garden variety sexual harassment” stories pale in comparison because the girls were underage. Even back in the ‘60s that was a death sentence for a politician.
If you go only on merit then it’s non-stop bitching that diversity programs are needed. When you adopt diversity programs, that’s not good enough either! I’m not sure what conclusion anyone is supposed to reach.
If one reads this site’s reporting of the story, then reads Breitbart’s, then Red State’s, you get a full version of what all three should have been reporting to begin with.
It neither helps me sleep nor keeps me up. When I evaluate something, I don’t first ask “What do rape survivors think about this?”
A reporter quoting an unnamed source is, by definition, hearsay:
