Solar panels produce about 15 Watts/SF. For the roof of a car, say 4' x 5' = 20 SF x 15W = 300W. You could maybe run the seat heaters on level 1 for that, but not even turn the AC on. The car battery would not even notice it.

Pretty sure F1 has zero need for people like her. There are plenty of rich & famous people who have a passion for F1, and I’m guessing MTS is not one of them or she she would have loved to have spoken up about it. And frankly outside of the USGP, is really not even famous.

We owned a 2009 Fit Sport for about 85,000 miles, had to sell it, thank god, as we needed an auto to support a rash of lower-leg injuries at the time which precluded clutch use. That car was “fine”. It was was noisy and sketchy at speed and in wind, and fuel mileage was low/mid 30's, nothing to be excited about. The

Shelby was basically the Krusty the Clown of automotive endorsing though.

Heal & Toe makes a lot of very cool, simply t-shirts and apparel. Not overly logo’d or stylized.

And don’t try to hand out water in those long lines either.  Because clearly that totally reasonable provision wasn’t motivated by race or class.

They are paid in overly-creative ways other than a traditional salary so they do not need to pay income taxes. It’s all about tax deferment (legal), tax avoidance (legal), and highly likely tax evasion (illegal and also rampant, see Panama Papers, etc.). It’s almost an insult that Bezos reports a salary at all, as if

At least Scorpio produced a Weather Machine, which is more than I can say for any of the vaporware companies on this list.

Under 84 months, at the end of year 2 your loan balance is $44k and at the end of year 3 it is $36K. Under a 60 month loan after year 2 it is $34K and after year 3 it is $23K. The risk is you total the car, or lose your job and need to sell it, you owe much less - generally $10k to $12k less - under the 60 month plan.

I get what you’re saying, but the risk profile in terms of LTV on the 84 month loan is still higher if things go tits up in year 2 or 3, and is that really worth $200/year? You are buying a bit more security on the 60 month with that $200. So while this example is the best kind of correct - technically - I’d also say

I would add heated seats and CarPlay and that’s it. CarPlay when done correctly (like my GTI) is fantastic and seamless and provides tremendous utility with a very simple interface.

My GTI costs about $120 for $18,000 coverage and 15% deductible through Haggerty, to provide a benchmark for the curious. I always buy the insurance. On average I see a car wrecked at 75% of the track days I attend.

Cooked the brakes after 3 laps? This man and his car are a menace to society.

Sounds like the same amount as just about anyone who can get a handgun in America.  Hell, I have a .22 we bought to take up target shooting years ago, which we did for about 2 years, and now the gun sits locked away in our basement.  I even have a CCP just because the rules on transporting a gun in your car are murky

Yeah, as an attempted put-down, this needs to die.

“They should have complied and they wouldn’t have gotten hurt.”  Oh, the irony here.

Amazing what zero crash structure can do for interior packaging :-)

At the very least hopefully they civil-suit his family into the poor house. I’ve been around a lot of triathletes, have done 4 ironman’s myself, and one thing that stood out is there are are LOT of very wealthy people in the sport, and a very large number of attorneys. Nothing will give back what they folks have lost,

I believe it’s pedestrian safety regs that are killing the classic hood ornament, but yeah probably that 0.00001 mpg too, gotta look good on the test! I do love that emblem though, in the 80's my dad finally was able to own a Benz, a 1973 450 SE!  It had more problems than East Germany and my mom nicknamed it Hitler’s

Plastic cladding on wheel wells is the single most disastrous styling trend in history. I am prepared to die on this hill.
