Even that comment doesn’t make a lot of sense because Jesus (assuming he existed at all, which is a different argument) was charged and sentenced to death by other black (or at least brown) people, not the horrific white people. Rome had a lot of prominent black people throughout its history as Africa, at least parts

No, the Lions said they looked into his background but only looked for convictions.

What’s your point? Had they known about the indictment do you think that should have precluded them from hiring Patricia? Do you think that Lions would, or should, publicize that fact to let fans know they knew about it but were hiring him anyway?

The NFL routinely does just that. James Harrison beat the shit out of his wife and the Steelers didn’t do anything because he was coming off a year when he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

To be candid, I’m mystified why anyone gives a fuck what Megyn Kelly said. I wrote that Jesus was black. He was. Then some rando comments “not according to Fox News” as if that proves anything. I’m not sure what point you’re making either. Megyn Kelly could think Jesus was green and the Easter Bunny is black. Who in

They can submit questions to the prosecutor that they want posed to a witness, but you’re assuming the prosecutor actually calls a live witness that would prompt the jury to submit a question.

Had they refused to hire him because of an indictment from 20 years ago that went nowhere, he would have been effectively banned from being the Lions coach. And, given today’s environment, any team that later hires him will have to explain why they did so and thus, by your own admission, stir up a shitstorm.

You know what’s even more strange? This site routinely bitches about how hard it is for people that have actually been CONVICTED of a crime to re-build their lives after they’ve served their time because no one wants to hire a CONVICTED felon.

Just like a story that some other web site did about a Hulk Hogan sex tape! Boy, that was a fun story.

I hope your dog is OK now.

You know this site is the Breitbart of the left, right? They’re going to flog this story until the cows come home.

1. How do you know the Lions didn’t do a background check?

And, as you keep ignoring, a grand jury is not an adversarial process. A prosecutor can convene a grand jury, introduce one piece of evidence - a statement from an accused - and get an indictment.

It may be happening more frequently but that’s only because we have a population that’s ever-growing and just about everything happens more frequently now.

No, and your point is well-taken. It is possible that Santa is not Jesus but God. “Serious scholars” have written about this so I have to admit you’ve made a great point.

The Root is to journalism what McDonald’s is to fine cuisine. Give me a fucking break.

Jesus and Santa Claus are not the same.

Jesus was a black guy.

I wouldn’t care either way because an indictment only means a prosecutor cherry-picked what evidence he presented to a group of people and got the result he wanted. It doesn’t mean the accused is guilty and no one familiar with the process thinks it does.

They had phones back then?
