Not in particular. In 4 Golden, there is a small section where you go on a school trip to the High School from 3 with a few familiar characters(but they only have like 10 lines of dialogue). And maybe a few minor nods to P3. And in P3 Portable, a character from P4 is shown as in a scene as a kid. Other than that,

That’s honestly my guess for what will happen. He will get a choice between “massive fines/jail time” or “work for government under extremely strict supervision for the rest of his life”.

I highly, highly doubt this kid is going to get just get banned from electronics/internet. This kid hacked Revolution, Uber, Microsoft and Rockstar. I’m willing to bet a government(probably UK where he was caught) is going to hire him and tell him “your life is basically over unless you work for us under extremely

I don’t like my Paladin player because literally. Everything. You. Do. causes you to become an oath breaker. I broke my oath within 30 minutes because I failed my deception check to save Lae’zel and every other option led to breaking my oath. I saved a group of humans getting attacked by goblins and broke my oath

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what I feel about the gameplay. Any and all skill is missing from the game. I’m almost 20 hours in and I haven’t really even come close to dying yet.

To me, it kinda does ruin the experience. Like I’m invested in the story and love that part of it. But I’m finding myself just wanting more story and less of everything else. It’s to the point, I’m disappointed when I have to play and not watch Which to me, if the main gameplay is a slog, then it kinda spurs

The best combat design? It’s literally just a hack-n-slash with no real strategy or variance. I’m not opposed to FF being an action game, but 16 is boring, bland and repetitive. If they had buffs/debuffs, status ailments, elemental weaknesses/resistances or something to make you have to think as opposed to “mash

I’m not opposed to 16 being an action game per day, but make it a fun action game with at least some strategy.

I don’t care so much about 16 being action oriented, but I want that action to be fun.

I agree with everything you said except I’m not finding the gameplay fun. It’s too repetitive and there is no actual strategy or variation in it at all. It’s literally just “hit attack until it dies” with some occasional dodging. I’m not against Final Fantasy going action based, but at least add an element of strategy

For me, it was that all Final Fantasy games had an element of strategy. Finding the right jobs/skill combinations, finding an enemy’s weakness, switching job/characters at crucial moments, finding which buffs/debuffs to use and when, getting the right equipment setup. All of this is what made Final Fantasy.

I mean, Sephiroth was pretty soft-spoken, so was Seymour in FFX. VIII’s Ultimecia was an enigma(and I’d argue soft spoken) for most of the game.  And XIII had the l’Cie(or whatever the gods were) who were soft spoken enigmas.

I strongly, strongly disagree about the combat. It’s not “great”, it’s mediocre at best. I’ve unlocked my 5th Eikon power set and it’s still literally nothing more than “hit attack button until it dies”. There is no variety or depth to it. I’m well over 20 hours into it and it’s pretty boring and repetitive. Hell, one

I wouldn’t care about the action based gameplay if it was actually fun, but they took every ounce of strategy out of it and turned it into “press attack until it dies”. They could have kept in status buffs/debuffs, status ailments, and elemental weaknesses/resistances and it would have been more fun while staying true

That’s what I’ve been saying. It’s a good game, but a terrible Final Fantasy. Sure the story is good, but the gameplay is boring and just turned into a mindless hack-n-slash. There isn’t even any strategy to the gameplay, just hit attack over and over until thing dies. Hell, 16 got rid of status ailments and elemental

Without spoiling too much, in 16, anyone who can wield magic gets “branded” with a tattoo and from then on is considered slaves and property, not people. They are worked to the bone and used until the magic in them literally makes them turn to stone/dust. Most people don’t even bother to learn their own slave/branded’s

I disagree, it’s the most “Final Fantasy” story wise, but least “Final Fantasy” in all other regards. Final Fantasy used to be about exploring and strategy. It was finding the right jobs/skill combinations, finding an enemy’s weakness, switching job/characters at crucial moments, finding which buffs/debuffs to use and

This is my biggest problem. Final Fantasy gameplay was always about strategy. Finding the right jobs/skill combinations, finding an enemy’s weakness, switching job/characters at crucial moments, finding which buffs/debuffs to use and when, getting the right equipment setup.

What you said is exactly why I tell anyone asking about 16(and I did the same for 15): it’s a good game, but a terrible Final Fantasy.

This is where I’m at with 16 right now. I love the story and am super into it. However, the gameplay is just so damn boring. It’s literally “press attack repeatedly until enemy dies” over and over again. The skills ultimately add nothing interesting to combat and it’s just a slog.
