I did not expect a deep dive on The Wanderers, but I don’t hate it! I owe it a rewatch.

The network coverage of the convention tonight is pretty disgusting. Goddamn ABC (so not even Fox or something) is fawning all over him, asking their reporter who talked to him about him in hushed, reverential tones, as though he’s not still an evil disgusting menace to the world.

Maybe we should just: “Get over it.” AKA the thing Republicans say whenever a mas shooting happens, while wearing pins that look like AR-15's and posing with them for Christmas cards. I know it is technically an “assassination attempt,” but it feels a consequence of the laws.

Hm. I wouldn’t say so. An assassination attempt like this hasn’t happened here in around 40 years, so it’s pretty rare.

I could see one of his headlines:

BS. There’s no reason to hold back. The more political credence we give these events, the more we encourage their repetition.

Between JD Vance and Aileen Cannon, there’s batshit insanity happening roughly every two hours.

I’m losing my grip on Daemon’s motivation. From season 1, I took Daemon as an agent of chaos who only cared about being Viserys’ heir to the extent that it got him Viserys’ attention and unsettled Daemon’s rivals. Now, after one fight with Rhaenyra, Daemon’s planning to take the throne for himself? Is he that deep in

Just rewatched Popeye. That movie really doesn't quite work but she's fantastic in it. It's hard to imagine anyone else giving that performance.

I recently rewatched The Shining and it’s so strange the discourse around her in it because her performance not only isn’t bad, it’s uniquely good. It’s honestly one of the most brutally realistic depictions of a woman in an abusive relationship. It’s interesting too because throughout the movie she’s legitimately

he’s so lacking in charisma that she tries to hire an actor to play him in interviews

They should have gotten Stanley Kubrick to direct this.

Her inevitable death is not in vain, though; her dragon explodes on impact with the ground, wiping out almost the entirety of Criston’s ill gotten army.

I suspect that when GRRM decided to pull the trigger on that joke, he never in a thousand years suspected they would have to call actors in a full goddamn HBO prestige drama those names. It’s sort of like when Games Workshop named a bunch of throw away background character stupid nonsense, and then a decade later

Right I’m just saying it seems like Rhaenys then wouldn't be old enough to have fought in a war.

This is so stupid. We have a minimum age for running for president. Why can’t we have a maximum one? Forgetting the increased likelihood that someone this old loses their control over mental and physical functions, do people really want someone who is quite frankly on their way out to have such a critical role in

Also this isn’t the first time Olivier has “acted” post-mortem. There was the very odd (but strangely endearing) indie film with all-virtual sets “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” (2004) that featured Olivier at the villain. At the time the whole thing just seemed like a weird bit of “outsider art”, but it was

Yeah, that’s an exception. But I also forgot Rene Russo, who is a year older than him. (How is she 70?????)

Starting with Untouchables, which was Patricia Clarkson and where he started having some clout, let’s look:

Sean Young (No Way Out)- 4 years younger
Susan Sarandon (Bull Durham)- 10 years older
Amy Madigan (Field of
