Actually, that’s not the original intent. Marc Davis the animator who created a lot of the POTC Ride did a lot of sketches prior to creating the ride. The original intent was to lean harder on the history, there are sketches explicitly of Anne Bonny and Mary Read doing pirate stuff and Blackbeard was meant to appear.
