I couldn't agree with you more. I've literally saved the earth a little bit by uninstalling and blocking flash in my browsers. My laptop would switch to discrete video when flash was loading - causing additional heat and power consumption... just to load a damn advertisement or widget.

Am I the only one that finds this article bordering on ignorant? I'm not big on hype or fear mongering, but the simple fact is that malware is a money business. Thousands of people are being paid to write programs to infect your machine - many of the newest are simple transport devices for established malware. The

As an information technology professional, I can sometimes run into problems with software and hardware that isn't easily answered by Google or the manual. After finding a solution - I document it on my blog. I don't expect to win awards or generate tons of traffic - but if it helps another geek who is stuck in the

No, I don't think you're a fool. OneNote, Windows 7(or maybe 8), and a good thinkpad tablet are just about perfect.

You are so right... I absolutely detest low res screens. I was handed a brand new 15" i7 HP at work - and it had a screen resolution of 1366x768... what - the - frack? I'm not carrying around a 7 pound laptop that has a useless display. Why do people still order these, or better yet - why are they still made?!

Also handy in a Zombie Apocalypse... nicely done.

I'm a big fan of the 360Electrical surge protector I got from Sam's Clube for $14. Fold in pins, two rotating 3 pin outlets and two 5W USB ports.

I've learned to ask many more questions during interviews to weed out these types of jobs. When I've told H.R. that I declined their offer and the reasons - they responded with an almost "yeah, we know.."

I purchased a cheap USB imic to provide sound i/o on some rack mount servers (long story) but the fact that the analog circuits and amp were outside of the server's case made the audio quality much better than I would ever expected.

Indeed... I agree with you 100%. If you don't trust me - then why do you pay me to work for you?

"If your webmail client utilizes HTTPS and your company isn't watching your screen, all they'll know is that you accessed webmail and not how you used it. "

So I'm reading this on my phone... am I doing this right?

Others are reporting a bug in Lion / F.Lux that causes this. Restarting the app fixes the problem after waking up the computer.

Your link is broken. I has a sad... I want a face like that.

Moving from a ThinkPad T400 to a new MacBook Pro 15" - has been a conflict. While I'm totally in love with the design and build of the MBP - I miss the ThinkPad docking station. Drop and go, no cables to worry about.
