Called it. When Origin released I said the worst thing about it was that it would give other publishers ideas. I had a feeling uPlay would be next. Altogether this makes client number three. And that's being generous. NCSoft has had a launcher for all their games for a while. That could be only a hop, skip, and a jump

Sadly, Twitter has repeatedly proved wrong the idea that eliminating anonymity online will improve attitudes and behavior.

Seems legit.

Can I be that guy? Ok, I'll be that guy.

*sigh* You know, there's already a company that figured out a great form factor for gaming controls on a phone. The phone itself was 'meh', but for crying out loud, could we start copying the controller half at least?

No one said dwarf planets couldn't have moons.

Dwarf planets can't have moons?

My very excellent mother just served us nachos. :)

I joined very recently because there are lots of people (musicians, scientists, comedians) and organizations that tweet about things I find interesting. It's an easy way to keep all those things together and keep up with it all.

Having a Twitter account doesn't mean you have to tweet. Nor does it mean you have to follow people who tweet silly or stupid things. It doesn't have to be self-indulgent. Just avoid those people.

I'm currently trying to make the transition. For me, the transition away from GMail is simply that I don't want Google's fingers in my email anymore, and I don't consider "free" email hosting worth the price of advertising robots. While they may be following all kinds of rules it still feels creepy when I start

Splode is another iPhone game like this.

It seemed interesting to me and my brother, but I remember we watched some gameplay videos after release and suddenly found ourselves pretty disinterested. I don't even really remember why, but we decided to pass on it.

I toy around with games on my iPhone. For the most part I hate them, even the ones I like. Not a single one of them has kept me from thinking, "Gee, if this were on [360/PS3/Vita/PC] the controls would be much better and I'd probably finish it," within minutes of first playing one.

I re-created Myst Island in Minecraft. First words out of a friend's mouth, "Ok. Why didn't you spend that time making a real model?" *sigh* :(

That's why I entirely quit playing Facebook games.

She's Barbariccia, from Final Fantasy IV. The tornado closer to the bottom of the pic is also her.

What's sad is that the next MMO that could be ruined by this kind of crap is The Elder Scrolls Online with its "be the best PVP'er while your faction is winning and YOU'RE THE EMPEROR" nonsense.

A great quote from Cory Doctorow, "After all, we don't just want privacy because we might be doing something wrong. When we go and evacuate our bowels in the bathroom we're not doing something immoral but many of us would hesitate to do it here in front of a crowd. Right? There's plenty that you just don't want seen.
