You should ABSOLUTELY play Xenoblade 2.  It’s a very fun game.

They oversexualize men too.  Deal with it.

Amazingly the game is still missing my favourite Goku: Kid Goku!

Oh, the subverting expectations argument makes me crazy!  Here’s an excerpt of a response to a SlashFilm thread about the critical flaw this particular defense:

IMO, Obi-wan was easily the best character in the prequels.

I want whatever happy pills you’re on. They seem to make you appreciate bad films too.

Lore is arguably what star wars is all about. Hard to have a story if everything surrounding it is barebones. Reasons like that see why shows like the Clone Wars are so good.

To an extent yes, they even made a story about the robot that Luke’s picks that blows up being force sensitive.

I love it when people are afraid to face reasoned criticism in a format that allows for sufficient time to explain said criticisms.

But, we didn’t lose perspective at all. Half of us just think this was way, way worse than any of the things you just mentioned. Also, you realize Finn’s head fell into poo on Canto Bight, right? Kind of a double standard there if you’re using Jar Jar’s foot in poo against me.

I cannot recommend this comment enough. I did exactly the same thing after about 100 hours of playing. Decided I had had my fill and B-lined it to Hyrule Castle.

I played the game without much thought to battle tactics. It was easy because my strategy didn’t change, but it wasn’t such a push over where I didn’t die a few times with special monsters and a few bosses. Though I'm beginning to suspect I may just be a piss poor gamer.

LOL. Come to Southern California and you will see how misinformed your snarky comment is.

Yea its been like a week and I dont think Kotaku as even acknowledge the game exists.

Seems like ado about nothing. The men are just as objectified in the game as the women. Men or women, it’s a game where nearly every character is “idealized”.

It could certainly do without the clothing destruction as a game mechanic. That was a stupid and pathetic idea back in Fighting Vipers.

How about we let them make the game they want to make, instead of trying to force your own personal tastes on them. Not every game has to appeal to every person. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. There are plenty of people that enjoy these games the way they are.

what, men are literally always objectified in video games, it’s common place. Just no one cares. In almost every single modern game in existence is an objectified male, including this game franchise.

They do objectify men in games, you just don’t count it as objectification because you have different standards. A woman dressed in very little like Ivy is objectification, but a man dressed in very little isn’t? Why aren’t they both considered objectification?

The fact of the matter is, perception is skewed so people

You kinda gave me an idea...
