There’s nothing wrong with that nor is there nothing wrong with making a deeper (not longer) game experience that enticed players to keep playing/replaying the game either.

Games like RE4, DMC3, Ninja Gaiden, Bloodborne, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze...and so on.
