It’s too bad the writers didn’t realize Princess Toadstool had a name in Japan they could’ve used as a first name when they wrote the movie. I guess they just decided to give her the first name that was used by Daisy in the Gameboy game.

The initial production cost was a big hurdle for a lot of Japanese devs at the time and with the DS/3DS doing so well in Japan the devs had very little reason to go to PS3.
It’s changed from the even simpler Japanese version. I don’t think it’s necessary to make it much fancier than it is in the video.
The difference is that the FFXV devs knew they were going to finish up large parts of the game long before it was ever released. You could feel that they had no intention in trying to create a finished product back when it was released.
