An arcade stick is digital just like a d-pad. The only real difference is that you can preform more complex inputs faster with a stick.

I think the better comparison would be like asking a player who played SF with the arcade stick for years to use a controller. SF wasn’t designed for a controller let alone a D-Pad or analog stick.

Back when I tried playing Smash WiiU with a WiiU controller the game felt awkward to me and I was terrible.
